Individual store managers have the authority to stop accepting printables if they are having issues with fraud. One of my Kroger stores (Atlanta area), for example, won't take printables, but all the other Kroger stores in the area will. Was it a cashier or a manager who told you they don't accept printable coupons? If it was a cashier, it may be worth your while to talk to the folks at the customer service desk or the manager to find out if that is really the policy or if the cashier was confused.

Here in GA the BOGO items ring up at 50% off.

Q: What if a product scans incorrectly at checkout?
A: The Publix checkout promise states that if during checkout, the scanned price of an item (excluding alcohol and tobacco products) is more than the shelf price or advertised price, the customer is entitled to one of that item free. Additional items are charged at the adjusted price. This also applies to clearance items.

If it were something from the fridge/freezer case, I wouldn't, but cereal should be pretty easy. |

Thanks for any feedback!! | You may be able to make special arrangements with the Store Manager, but normally you would get charged for the one item you bring up to the register at full price, and forfeit the free one, if you don't get two of them.

| Re: Newbie Questions for Publix Shoppers Sheila, I'm so glad you had a great Publix trip! My grocery biz friend says that store's about a year old and they are slowly taking business from the extremely high volume kroger across the street. This person also told me they are talking about building a super kroger there, supposed to be like the kroger owned meijer stores in other parts of the country.
I've never been a publix employee, but I do know that they stock during the day so that there will be employees on the isles. I also know that if a customer is within so many feet of any employee and looks like they might need help, that employee is supposed to ask if they need help, even if said employee is stocking. They also prefer employees take you to something you're looking for. They are supposed to special order anything they don't carry (if possible), they are supposed to have a minimum number of customers in any line, I could name about 10 more high customer service practices if anyone's interested! Publix employees get publix stock, so they are usually much more motivated to keep customers happy too!
