Default Re: Newbie Questions for Publix Shoppers

My Hueytown publix told me the only printable that I can't do is a FREE item. I have called and spoken to the SM regarding my q questions. He even gave me some pointers and tips!! I have spoken to most of the managers at some point or another. I ask first before I do something wrong. I have some great cashiers that always are happy about my savings. If a q beeps, they figure it out for me and fix it bc they know that I am doing by the book (and hcw way).

Sadly, my fav cashier got promoted to CS (Way to go E!!). I asked him to ring me up the other day bc I had a raincheck and a q for each item. He even argued with me that the way my raincheck was written that I could get 12 bogo spraynwashes. I was trying to get 6 but he said no it says 6 deals!! So he gave me my other raincheck back...gotta love him.

Default 2 $5's for $70?

If you have the 5/35 coupon, and your total hits $70+ do you have to split your transaction up or can you use two of the 5/35?

My interpretation of "one deal per coupon per customer" is that I can only use one on a transaction.

Default Do all Publix stores have tearpads?

Sorry, newb question here (looked in the newb thread but didn't see anything).

Do all Publix stores have tearpads? And is a tearpad different than a SmartSource coupons that are in the stores?

For example, one of the recent deals listed on this forum was:

Oreos 2 for $5
followed by a list of tearpads: $1/1, $0.75/1, or $1.50 off milk when you buy two 15 oz. Oreo packages

We looked all around the store and could never find any of the tearpads mentioned.

I've also seen talks of "purple peelies" for produce, but I've never seen anything in our produce section.

My store is in Birmingham, AL.

Thanks for the help... glad to get the tip off for the 10 for $10 item last week... got 7 things of toothpaste at more than 50% off! Will last us forever...

Default Re: Newbie Questions for Publix Shoppers

Hi there, tearpads are different than the Smartsource coupons that come out of the red machines. We call those blinkies. The tearpads are pads of coupons that you may find on displays, or on shelves near the product. It is random which stores you find them in, some Publix stores will have certain tearpads, where others will not.
For instance, none of any of the stores I go to had the $1/1 tearpads, either. You just have to keep your eyes peeled for these each time you go shopping. As far as the purple produce peelies, those were found previously on General Mills products, mostly Cheerios cereal boxes and such. There may be some still around, but they are probably few and far between by now.

And to add to that... a lot of times the blinkies/peelies/etc were found maybe a month or so ago and aren't around anymore, but they haven't expired yet. What's posted in the original post of the ads is what she finds in the coupon database just in case someone has one of those coupons in their stash or has traded for it. Hope that helps.

Sorry... newbie :)

I'm going to need some guidance here. When you say she pulled it from the coupon database, can you point me to that?

Does that mean essentially that people are constantly cutting out coupons to build up there personal coupon database? Sounds like you need to have a bunch saved up to really get started.

Thanks! Just trying to help my wife and I save money.

Hi, the Coupon Database is found as a drop down option under the Coupon Resources tab above. It is really just a database of coupons, that enables you to look up an item to see if there is a coupon for it. It will tell you the source of the coupon, the date it expires, etc.
