Newbie Questions for Publix Shoppers

newbie question: Do you have to have 1 publix Q for each item or does it work like Walgreens and automatically deduct the price for however many you have??

Hi, at Publix you do need to present a Publix q for each item in order to get the discount. If the discount is off two items, like the Sundown $6/2, then you would only need one coupon for the discount on the two items.

This isn't exactly a Publix only question, but... I'm going to ask anyway.
I got my first rain check ever today!! Woo hoo! Actually, my DH went to the store for me, and I had him get it (isn't he sweet?). But anyway, my question is, when you use your rain check do you have to purchase the quantity listed or can you "save" some for later? TIA!

My Publix stores will allow me to buy as many, or as few as I like. They will either rewrite the raincheck to reflect the new balance, or cross off the amount, write in the new amount and initial it. It depends on the store.

Will Publix accept coupons from other grocery stores? Also, my Publix (in Alabama) told me they would not honor a BOGO coupon and they also would not accept any coupon valued over $1.00. The cashier told me that $1.00 was the maximum coupon they would take. I had a $2 off coupon for Honey Bunches of Oats and I was not allowed to use it. Is this common at Publix?

The acceptance of competitor's coupons varies, and you should call your store and ask them. Some people are even able to use Target coupons (though not at my store).

Are you talking about BOGO and over $1 IPs? Again, I believe that some stores accept them, but not all. My store will not accept IPs for Free items.

In general Publix accepts competitor coupons, but it is best to check on your local store level. It is a YMMV using a bogo coupon on a bogo sale, some stores will not permint this. It is common for Publix stores to refuse Internet printables over $1, but they cannot limit coupon acceptance to $1 on a regular manufacturer coupon. If you have trouble with a cashier, ask for the CS Manager.
