Default How can this be the price?

Hi. I've been looking at the matchups at Publix but don't understand this one. If you can't stack 2 MQ for one item how can the final price of the All Laundry detergent be $.99 each? Is it saying you can use all these coupons together to make it $.99?

All Small & Mighty Laundry Detergent – Assorted Varieties – 3x Concentrated, 32 oz bot. Or 2x Ultra, 50 oz bot. – BOGO 5.99

-$1/1 All Small & Mighty Printable & Printable

-$2/1 ; $1/1 All Liquid Laundry Detergent, Any 50 Oz. Or Larger 02-07-10 RP *Makes it as low as $.99 each.

The price of ALL is $5.99 for two. Since you are buying 2, you can use 2 coupons. if you have two of the $2/1 coupons, it would take off $4, leaving $1.99 for two or roughly .99 each.

You also don't HAVE to buy two as BOGO items actually ring up half price. So the price for one would be $2.99 and then subtract $2/1, and that leaves .99.
It's 35 cents off of ground round,
    Baby, cut that coupon out!

This is not true for all Publix stores though as the ones I use to shop at in Florida ( before moving to another state ) rang up as 1 at the advertised price & 1 at $0.

True. I did check the OP's state before replying to make sure it wasn't FL since I've heard that of FL stores. Was trying to apply to OPs situation without being more confusing, but wasn't considering any FL lurkers out there.

Thats right. Florida and some stores along the south of Alabama and Georgia ring up as a true BOGO. Most Alabama and Georgia stores ring each item half price.

Yes, I'm in FL and they do ring up as true BOGO - but they still let us use 2 manuf q's, plus 2 store q's, on 2 items.

Fun side note - other stores have been losing business to Publix because of this, but now some other stores (like Winn-Dixie) have started to do half price items to compete.

I guess the advantage of Publix BOGOs that ring up half price (like Metro ATL) is that I am not required to buy in sets of two to get a deal....but I can't use a BOGO Q on a BOGO sale to get two for free. In contrast for those with a true BOGO, you have to buy in sets of two but get to use a BOGO Q on a BOGO sale to get two for free. Other than this, I think the net result is the same (both areas allow the use of two coupons wyb two in a BOGO sale.

Hmm, interesting... I did not know you all couldn't use a BOGO Q on a BOGO sale.. Now I feel a bit better living in FL.. not to mention we do not have sales tax on groceries.. as I had considered driving 15 minutes across to GA border to be able to double, but then realized you have to pay taxes..

to OP.. it took me awhile to realize how they were getting to that final number as well, but have found that the group here is awesome at answering questions.. heck I still sometimes don't get it.. lol

They can use a BOGO Q it just doesn't come out free if you are in a half price state .

    Example

Sale BOGO Ice Cream (YUM) $5.00

    True BOGO
    $5.00 free due to sale
    $5.00 free due to coupon
    Total is Free

    Half price
    $2.50
    $2.50 free due to coupon
    Total is $2.50

The downside to the true BOGO is like the Hersery Bar sale next week has a coupon $2/3 so I have to buy 6 to get my full value on the coupons where in the half price you can buy 3.
