To me....if you had a scenario that Nabisco had a coupon for $3.00 of any Nabisco product and the pictures on it were Ritz and Wheat Thins and Club and they decided to sell of Triscuit to a separate company but Triscuit was going to keep the Nabisco logo on it...it's kind of BS to think that you can't use it on Triscuit. They could of worded the coupon different, but chose not too or demanded that Triscuit get a new logo.

Default Re: Knox coupon not for gelatin product?

I looked at the $4/1 coupons that I have which are good "on any Knox product." There is a picture of the Nutra Joint powder on it.

The fine print underneath says, "Consumer: This coupon good only on the purchase of products indicated. Any other use constitutes fraud."

It seems that the wording implies that the coupon is only good on Nutra Joint powder.

Does anyone else have this written on their coupons? Mine are from RP 01/31/2010. IMO, they're only good for the Nutra Joint stuff, since that is the only product shown.

The wording indicates it's good on any Knox product...so the part that says "Good only on products indicated" to me means only on any Knox product. If it said "good only on products pictured" than I can see where it would be limited to NutraJoint. Let's face it, they meant it to be used on NutraJoint but failed to articulate that properly and clearly on the coupon.....so my thought is that they are going to be paying a lot of stores $4 per coupon for it and never make that mistake again. If they refuse to pay it, I can't see where they have a leg to stand on legally since the store followed the coupons binding terms and conditions as written on the coupon.

As John said, the products indicated are through the written terms of the coupon which says any Knox product. We do not go by the picture.

I still find it hard to believe that it is legal to use this coupon on gelatin. I understand that the wording says "on any Knox product", but the wording below states "only on products indicated". The "indicated" products, which I'm assuming are the pictured products are the Nutrajoint powders. I suppose the "indicated" products could also be any Knox product too.

Are there any lawyers here?

I agree that the wording is very confusing and contradictory, but I know that I wouldn't feel comfortable using it. To each his own.

Very few coupons have all the items the coupon covers pictured on the coupon. Just imagine how many pictures they would have to put on there. "Hamburger or Tuna Helper" would have about 60 different varieties that need to be pictured. "24ct or larger Bayer aspirin" would have about 15 different varieties. and so on and so on. As consumers we have to go by the wording on the coupon, not the pictures, this is the case with any coupon, not just this one.

My $.02, fwiw.

You do make a good point.

I'm still not comfortable with the "language" in the coupon. Who knows. Maybe they'll be more specific... I suppose that's part of the fun of couponing- interpretation and matching deals.
