Have you used Target coupons at this particular Publix location before? Some of them don't take Target coupons as a competitor. (My store doesn't take Target, CVS, Walgreens, Rite-Aid...)
I went to publix yesterday, had coupons from target for $1 off broccoli making it only .47 2 girls tell me oh NO we don't take these coupons their for target I had to explain to her that publix takes competitors coupons, they then say I didn know target had food, another person comes over said I don't think so either I said hey listen I have done it before and I know you do , she leaves comes back and tells us yes we take them...I told them nicely "hey you learn something new everyday"..lol but shouldn't they know this already being they do work the register?
P.s I was waiting for them to say I can't use 2 coupons on b1g1 but they didn't yet it has happened as well may times

Well, ir seems that Management is to blame if the cashiers don't know the rules. Don't be hard on the cashiers but get on managements case.
becasue most of the time they dont stay at the job long enough to lern the rules...and not that many people uses coupons and if they do they just have a few right out of the news paper they dont take the time to learn what they can do and cant do so the cashers dotn have to deal with it that often...one cashier i like to use here at my walmart says only about 1 out of 20 people have any coupons at all and then its just 4 or 5 coupons she says i am the only one that she has ever dont that will have 30,40 or 50 coupons to use and that i price match and not many people do that either. So if they dont have to deal with coupons and they dotn stay at the job long they will not know the rules..

The queen of April Fools was here.
I've dealt with a few Publix cashiers who were unaware that they even took competitors' coupons, let alone knew which ones were allowed. When that happened, I would nicely point out the giant sign that said "We take competitors' coupons!" posted over the customer service desk about 20 feet away from the registers. And none of these cashiers were new!
I haven't had that problem but that's because I haven't tried that yet cause i'm still new :D
but the cashier yesterday started to make me mad... I had some coupons from Dollar General's flyer (they say MANUFACTURER COUPON!!!) and she says "I don't think we take these from DG" and then a manager walks over and says no we dont take coupons from them (there's no DG nearby to compete with). And I said probably 3x "it says manufacturer on it." then the manager said "ok take it."
I hope this isn't a problem in the future. I need to find me a young cashier guy... lol.
I only have one Publix store near me that will take the Target coupon and they make such a big deal out of my coupons. With some Publix stores I can use their coupon LU# plus a manufacturer coupon and they will try to refuse it. Each time a manager has to come over and tell them YES we will take both. I agree has to do with the training of these cashiers, and maybe not that many smart customers are out there that knows that they can use both coupons (I know I didn't know until finding you all)
I agree with all of you. Lately, I have had issues with cashiers giving me a hard time with taking a manufacturer and a publix Q. I am a frequent shopper at Publix (pretty much go 4 or 5 times a week) and spend hours working up the best deals. Many of the young cashiers know me because I taught them in school. However, there are a few that do not and lately will critically inspect every item and say "but you have already used a Q on this item." I even had one "gentleman" (putting it lightly) huff and puff and say that it just wasn't right and continue that Publix needs to change their policy as he was checking me out. I didn't make the policy and he should have kept his personal feelings to himself. I was polite and immediately walked to the assistant manager and complained. They are acting more and more like I am committing fraud. No, I am being a smart consumer and using their coupon policy. I have a spreadsheet and know to a penny what I am paying. Today, I didn't even use all the Q's because the guy was inspecting everything I had and making me like a criminal. An deadman could have worked faster than him. They didn't even bag my groceries like they normally do until he had inspected every item. If this is how I will be treated for being a "smart consumer", I'll take my business to another Publix and inform others of their negative hospitality. I hate it because there are some WONDERFUL employees at this location that I enjoy talking to.
John, I would like to know where you shop in and around Atlanta. I'm in the area and want to know the ones that treat their customer with hospitality.
There are lots of awesome cashiers at the baker road Publix in Acworth! :)
