Publix penny q will be in Thursday newspapers

Per a full page ad in the 12-27-09 AJC (page A9):
Now every Thursday will bring a pleasant surprise. Everyone loves the Publix Mystery Coupon, because it gets you a valuable item for just 1 cent at your neighborhood Publix. Beginning Thursday, January 7, you'll find the coupon in this newspaper instead of in the Publix ad. Be sure to find it and cut it out so you can get your pleasant surprise---for only a penny.

This is the ad in total. No mention of if the day to use the penny q will be the same or changed.

According to the ad in the Chattanooga Times Free Press, the Chattanooga market's penny item day will be on Wednesdays starting on January 6, 2010.

I was told last night that the penny item will be moved to Wednesday starting next week. I am in the Nashville area.

Yes, in Nashville it will be on Wednesday, the same day the new ad starts. In some states the new ad starts on Thursday. It works great for me because on Wednesday I won't have to get a raincheck like I do on Sunday. Publix should be fully stocked on the first day of the ad!

I wonder if they will skip the penny item altogether this weekend and start it next Wednesday/Thursday. I guess we will find out soon enough. Wednesday works great for me because I am almost always out shopping at several different Publix stores anyway. Now I can sleep in on Sunday.

Nashville will be Wednesday, and it won't be in the ad according to my fave CSR, but rather in the paper. Probably the Tennessean for you and the Huntsville Times for me.

Here in Atlanta, there is a free Thursday paper called "Evening Edge" put out by the Atlanta Journal Constitution (AJC) delivered to select driveways on Wed nights/Thurs mornings. I am hoping the penny item coupon will be in there b/c I won't be buying the AJC on Thursdays just for the penny item.
