Got into trouble with who? Publix's corporate policy is to accept the two together. Did she show you something in writing? And who was the person who told you that?
Yesterday I was told that Publix no longer accepts Publix coupons and manu coupons together. She said they got into trouble because it was double dipping. Has anyone else heard this? I'm going to write to corporate about this too, but was just wondeirng if anyone else encountered this

I wrote to corporate about it. I lost out on about $10 on that transaction. I'm going to a different one today. That one is no longer my favorite :(

let us know what corporate says...I agree with pp, I think she was just being grumpy.
Which Publix was it?
I've had cashiers and one customer service asst manager tell me the same thing...that manufacturers coupons could not be used in conjunction with Publix q's. I let them have their merchandise back when it happened because that is not the policy at the stores here in Alabama. It takes them a time or two to get it straightened out but eventually they do and then I can shop in those stores without a problem concerning using the two coupons together.
For a company that is otherwise well managed and is certainly successful, Publix has the most archaic coupon policy that I have ever imagined could be implemented, or rather not implemented, anywhere. I will never understand the policy of not having a written policy concerning coupons. We have an abundance of Publix stores in the Birmingham area to choose from and practically every store has a different coupon policy. And even worse than that, the policy at any given store can change in a moment's notice and with no warning. It is practically impossible to know what the store coupon policy is when you walk into any Publix here. Over the past six months or so I've probably left close to a fourth of my purchases sitting at checkout because the store changed the coupon policy since the last time I shopped there. I'm not normally a rude person but I don't feel one bit bad about leaving my grocery items sitting for them to put back up since they don't give me the courtesy of letting me know what their coupon policy is for that given day. It makes a statement to them and to the customers behind me. Just put it in writing and make it applicable for all customers, not just the ones that use a lot of coupons, and I can live with it and I will abide with the policy. I can't read their minds though and I have no way of knowing when they have changed the policy from the last time I was in there shopping.
There is another chain of stores in our area, Piggly Wiggly, and each store makes their own coupon policy because some are individually owned. They state their coupon policy for all to see though so you know exactly what you are dealing with before you check out. If they can do it, there is no good reason why Publix can't do it. And until they do, when they change the policy on me with no notice, I'll walk out and leave my items sitting on the conveyor belt. Odds are that the next time I go in that store, the policy will have changed again and I'll have no problem checking out. Can you tell I am frustrated with their policy of no written policy? LOL
This was at the one on Simpson road in Kissimme. Today I went to the one on JYP/Columbia and had NO issues. In fact the cashier said I was his hero! Spent $16, saved $97
