They just paid me at Publix!!!!

OMG !! I have no idea how this happened.

I rang through my order (77.00 ish) and the cashier was questioning my bogo w/ a mf q, then having a store q on top of that... really blew her mind. She kept saying, but you go them bogo ! so, I quickly school her. (Which is hilarious because she just got done telling me that they just did a class on taking q's) (Guess she should've paid better attention in class! So, the manager came over, told her to take them. She stood there a minute. All of a sudden I go negative .99, so quickly I go to get a lint roller and she's like "you don't have to do that".. I'm like.... " HUH?", and she's like, " I'll just give you cash back",,, so I said really low..."you can do that? She says "I can do anything I want".... OMG !!! Am I in a friggin twilight zone episode? Are the cops gonna nab me on my way out the door with my bags of groceries as I wave my crisp $1.00 bill around? I must be dreamin ! I'm seriously puzzled ! That was awesome ! That was the best day ever..... :)

I usually throw a Publix Gift card in my order if I think I may be close to zero....just to be sure I don't go negative. Since there is no doubt I'll use the gift card, it's like getting paid to shop!

Hey and I like the GC idea if you get near zero. (which rarely happens for me) I will keep that in mind just in case. :)

Well, off the top of my head, I got:

8 pretzels - 2 1.00 mf q's - 2 1.00 publix q's.
2 tylenol (trial size) - 2- 2.00 publix q's= Overage
some sundown vitamins - publix q - 2 1.00 mf q's
ramen noodles (for fillers)
a banana

I personally have never heard of them giving cash back, but here I sit w/ my bag 'o groceries and my 1.00 bill. It's the craziest thing I've ever seen, and I've only been doing this since April. I went from (you can't use 2 mf q's on a bogo, to here's your dollar, now git on up outta here) !... crazy !

I get gift cards when I am close to going negative. No since it letting them know I get paid to shop there. I go negative frequently now.

Sometimes they figure it out and sometimes they don't.

I heard there was an email circulating from corp to give us overage and cash back if we go negative.

Great job! I used to do the- take q's back or throw in a candy bar so I don't go negative, but I've been rolling the gift cards, like John said, and it covers my bases. *whew*. :)

I got back .81 cents the other day myself! Same thing, tried to throw a candy bar in and she said no need and handed me the change. I'm still shocked!
