Publix: I was pleased to see this: all closed for the Thanksgiving holiday

I don't know about system-wide, but, the Publix stores in Chattanooga, TN, were closed today for Thanksgiving. I see that other stores in my city are open until 2:00-3:00pm today for those last minute shoppers. At least, Publix is giving their employees an opportunity to share Thanksgiving to its fullest with their families. I realize that there's not much respect for employees these days and I am just glad to see something like this.

Yes, that was companywide... unlike Winn Dixie that was CRAM packed today with shoppers... WHO shops for food on Thanksgiving? LOL

I on the other hand am grateful that WD is always open, I even remember a thanksgiving around 15 years ago or so (back when even cvs wasn't open on TG) that I desperately needed ahem - feminine hygiene products - and WD was the only place open

I agree! We had so many last minute runs to WD today for things I didn't realize we'd forgotten. Everyone seemed in a great mood and not super bothered to be there. They are closing early, so it still leaves plenty of time to get to dinners and such. They were giving 10/50 catalinas with every purchase today, too!
