DD3 Publix: Free or Cheap Toys with Winter Family Savings Q

Since the holidays are coming, I thought I'd start a thread so everyone can post how they are using the new toy Qs that are in the Winter Family Savings book.

I was on the lookout for cheapies today to use the $1 off any one toy under $19.99. I noticed bags of latex balloons (5") for .99, making them free after Q. I also came across some silly-putty-type eggs for $1.59 ea, so relatively cheap after the Q.

I looked at all the little matchbox cars, but they were priced around $3.50 in my store. There could be some fun little stocking stuffers out there, and I'm curious about what others are finding.

Location of coupon booklet varies by store....some have separate cardboard display in store, others have near entrance in or near turnstyle.

I found the balloons for $0.99 and hotwheels for $0.99. I did notice different Publix's has different toys. It is funny because I have never looked at toys in Publix before. I have had to ask where the toys are located in two stores.

Note...In 2 stores, I have seen the hotwheels on the side of an endcap and not in the toy area.

My Publix has those little foam capsules that you put in hot water & they "grow" into shapes. They cost $1.59- so $.59 after q! My son LOVES these things!

I'm just using them for the little cars right now. My boys love those things and they've got a bunch of different ones since last year. It's sooo nice to have a tax only Christmas toy they'll love with money so tight this year. I haven't noticed anything else that works out as good yet. I did use these as competitor's coupons to get little toy planes at Sweetbay last year for about .30 or so each. They might've been hot wheels or matchbox brand, too. I haven't checked out Sweetbay's Christmas toys yet this year though.

ETA- Now that I think about it, I got the planes at Sweetbay really close to Christmas, so they were 50% or 75% off at the time, so that's how it worked out so well.

I know I'm not a kid, but *I* love these things! I'll have to "buy" some and give them as "gifts" to family members...
