Default My Publix in Ocoee, FL just got alot stricter YUCK

I went to this Publix all the time due to how great they were with coupons. However yesterday they refused 3 competitor coupons b/c they were not local. SIGH I am bummed. At least I have more Publix stores close by to see how friendly they still are.

Tammy, my sister and I go to that Publix, can you please tell me which competitor coupons they did not take? I want to know before I make my list for this weeks sales. Thanks.

Well, I think in order for it to be a competitor they have to be at least within about 30 miles. Seriously, people who don't have a FL within 300 miles are tying to use FLIPS and getting upset when the store says no... can't blame anyone for trying but...

my store in SC is getting stricker too. Yesterday the manager told me that they are only going to allow one IP per item in one order. So even if you have 2 IP's and want to purchase 2 of the same item you can only get one. The other thing she said is that with competitor coupons they are going to start only taking a total of 5.00 off per order.

I had a very nice conversation with her. She said they thing people are printing as many IP's as they want. I told her that each computer can usually only print 1 or 2, she said, well they all have the same barcode, and I showed her my coupons and they were all different barcodes...

Then I jokingly said, "so you're just going to make us come back again and again huh?"

She just kind of laughed and brushed it off, but I think she understood a little bit better after we talked.

I asked her when this was going into effect and she was pretty evasive...

Anyways, going to try the other Publix a little further away and see what happens...

Yeah my used to be fav store in Maitland is the pits now. I just go about 5 miles out of my way and to Winter Park nd get treated so nicely it is well worth the effort.

Which one? I go to Taylors store and never have problems. They take all the coupons. McAlister store is also good. The Pelham Commons store has higher prices on some stuff although sales flyer is the same.

Are you talking about the one on Forest City Road? If So, I AGREE. They are becoming a PAIN. Im sorry, I don't like being looked down or treated horribly just because Im saving some money. I go to the Edgewater or Hollianna store on 17-92 with NO problems at all and treated So much better.

and to the OP, are you talking about the Clarke Road one or Good Homes?
Either one stinks. but Good Homes, just fyi don't buy from thier deli, I used to work there, they have almost been shut down several times due to a...infestation. EW. As far as coupons, Sorry your having a hard time

In Atl, the store on Howell Mill allowed doubling once I had the cashier ask a manager if she was sure they weren't allowed to double DND coupons. The manager said cashiers weren't allowed to suppress. My other publixes- Midtown Atl Publix on 5th & Peachtree- this is the store I always have problems with! And I don't know why since its customers are mostly college kids who don't use coupons. They suppress, don't let you use more than 1 publix coupon (even with 2 ppl checking out!), don't allow overage, and scrutinize every coupon! I've heard other college are Publixes are better (Gainesville, Fla for one). Atlantic station publix doesn't allow overage either and I've had a couple other problems there. So far, Howell Mill is winning (it's has the biggest selection too).

My Publix in Temple Terrace (Tampa) FL just told me tonight they are no longer able to accept "printable" coupons. There has been some flagrant abuse of people going through multiple lines to get deals and they have changed policy. I didn't stop to talk to the manager, but I'm sure there won't be exceptions to this at my store anyway. Maybe this is just the warning period for the crackdown to come. Bummer for me it means no printables or Target competitor matches to stack.
