My assumption is that store imposed limits is a method to control shelf-clearing. If I were a store manager, I'd want to ensure sale items were available to all my shoppers so I can't say I disagree with limits as a method to control shelf clearers.
Hello,
I was a Publix today and saw a sign that "some deals limited to 2 per person." I think that was the wording. It was in front of the BC potatoes and Ragu that are BOGO they had sitting at the front door. Has anyone see that in their store? I did not see in on the shelves with the items in their regular places.
I did get 4 BC potates and 4 Ragu and they did not say anything. I am not opposed to limits. I am not a fan of shelf clearing. When I paid with my coupons a lady I had been talking to in the store (my binder attracts lots of attention these days) got behind me to see my total ( I was OK with that) and the cashier made a comment that I was not the only one and something like everyone is doing the q thing and we chatted about that. The cashier was super nice but seemed the q's were becoming a pain. I hope Publix is not going to start being unfriendly to couponers. I love my Publix!

The stores here have always had "quantity rights reserved" or something like that on B1G1F deals. I was told by Publix that it is to prevent other retailers from clearing the shelves and then reselling the items at their smaller stores.
I think my Publix must expect certain stuff to be cleared bc for some reason our Publix clears shelves a lot (must be a lot of other couponers!) and sometimes we have to get rain checks a lot! But our store is VERY good at restocking. Many times I have seen them with pallets IN the store itself stocking in the middle of the day if it's a hot item, and it is ALWAYS stocked by the next morning...... I certainly do not like shelf-clearing either, but my store seems to be well prepared for such events.

I saw a few signs around my store that had limits on it and I am fine with it because we have several shoppers who are great at clearing the shelves.
I agree. I am glad they are trying to limit the shelf clearing. I did buy 6 Nestle Toll House but that is what I will use for the holidays. There is always some kind of bring a snack or church function. My store does keep their shelves stocked really well.

I am not opposed to limits, but it makes it hard when you need to buy 10 items for a rebate or you are buying for multiple households like I do.

I went to the Publix yesterday and wanted to buy 12 boxes of Crispex cereal with $1 mfg coupon and $1 target coupons = free!. They told me that they would accept only 6 target coupons for an item as a limit. I thought that was fair. So I bought 6 and will go back later in the week for the others.
I give the large quantities of food I can get couponing to the local shelters here in Central FL. This is think is a great way to help out with the great need for food by those in need. Couponing and rebateing allows me to do this without a large output of money on my part.
