I would call/write to Publix HQ and get more info about a SM's right to make up their own rules.
I actually heard a snippet about this from a reliable source- that corporate is planning to do away with stacking manuf Qs with Store Qs. I thought to myself- no- that would never happen- but now it is scary to see someone post this- because it actually may be happening. I really hope not- some of my best deals are done from stacking.

I think it won't last long if they do, at least not outside of FL. They are a very expensive grocery store for basics and if you are in an area with competition it will hurt them. I never buy milk there stuff like that. I always go to publix, get the great deals, mm and bogos and that's it. If they stop stacking I'm done. I have multiple choices here. They already stopped taking competitors here and I've dropped my trips. I don't go every week anymore.

I hope this is not the case, I deliberately stack only up to the purchase price so as to not take advantage of this generous policy.

This would also go for FL. They have so much competition around here and they're definitely the most $$ store in the area. BJ's stacks very generously and has way better prices, Target stacks AND pricematches and has way better prices, etc. I can't say that I'd never go to a Publix store again if they stopped stacking, but I can say that I'd probably only go in for the BOGO sales and shop for everything else at BJs, SuperTarget, Wal-Mart, etc. As it is, the local Publix has a different rule every day about who they consider competitors. I can't deal with that hassle, so I'm just not bothering anymore.

    Exactly!
One of the stores I shop at stopped accepting them for a long time due to abuse of the stacking of these.

You know, they could also limit quantities, refuse to give overage, etc. if there was truly "abuse" of coupon stacking. Target has the 1 like Target coupon per order rule. Any Publix store could do the same. I really think that "abuse of stacking" is just an excuse for a particular store to just be more restrictive on coupons.

What is "abuse of stacking"? What does it entail? I regularly use a Publix Q combined with a MQ and thought this is referred to as stacking....but didn't realize this is abusive? Isn't their policy to allow an MQ and a store Q to be used together on a single product (except where the Q verbiage resticts this)?

Perhaps "abuse of stacking" refers to overage, in which case it's more like lazy cashier who doesn't want to override the overage (or store policy to allow overage). Sorry, but the excuse of abuse of stacking to disallow stacking at a particular store just strikes me as that particular store not wanting to deal with couponers. There are plenty of ways to counteract any real or perceived "abuse" of the particular store's stacking policy without disallowing it completely.

I did hear that the verbiage changed on some Publix coupons because people were buying the stuff at Publix for pennies and then reselling it at flea markets, though. Now THAT would be abuse IMHO, but again, Publix could just limit quantities when it came to stacking deals to counteract that, KWIM?

My Publix always gives me overages....even when I stack a Publix Q with a MQ. I would certainly understand if they chose to not allow it for Publix/Store Qs...but their very generous overage policy is one of the reasons I shop at this Publix. Perhaps it's not their policy but almost every week I buy something for overage after stacked coupons and I've never had them adjust the Publix Q down.

...on another subject...has anyone found the 8 count Benefiber packets? I have been to 3 stores and there isn't even a spot on the shelf for them. At our coupon club meeting yesterday we talked about the "bait and switch" issue where stores advertise things to lure ppl into their store but don't have the items. This can be reported to your Attorney General. I do hope it is okay to post this, if not plz delete and do not punish me!
