Publix: Coupon stacking discussion

I found sundown vitamins on clearance for $1.49 each and tried to use the publix q for $6/2 and they would not take it!! THey said I would be getting it free and they can't use it on a clearance item!!! I had other things i was buying but i left everything at the store because my 3 kids were upset already after waiting in line so long

Publix qs have the "may not exceed purchase price" wording on them. It's not that you can't use them on clearance. Trying to get $3 in overage is what got you. I don't blame you for trying! What they should have done is adjust down the q so both bottles were free, not denied it outright.

Did anyone notice that the $3/2 J&J blinkie came out RIGHT before the advantage buy flyer came out?

Do you seriously think that is a coincidence? J&J has a brand new item that they are promoting. They want you to buy the new item, over existing products.

You will notice that alot of the time, CVS, Walgreens, etc will have deals on the same items during the same time that Publix has their advantage buy coupons.

Publix is getting reimbursed for the publix coupons, maybe not the full amount, but don't be fooled. Publix would not have their high dollar store coupons if they were not making a profit on them.

Like a previous poster said, someone, somewhere, in the Publix marketing department is fully aware of all the coupons current and coming out. It's actually a great marketing tool. They move product, that's the bottom line.

If Publix was losing out on anything anywhere, they would not be one of the strongest grocery store chains in this economy.

They could have adjusted the coupon down to the amount of the items. You could also have picked up 2 bottles that cost at least $4.50 each and used another coupon, thereby getting 4 bottles for free.
