Publix: McCalla/Bessemer- Competitor Q's?

Yeah I guess I just need to make sure I have extra stuff on my order. I always try to put the item that gives overage/free at the front of my order cause if I have alot of stuff the cashier isn't as likely to check and look at the price. If i put the overage/free stuff at the end of the order thats when I usually get the argument about cpns. When the first CSM came up and denied me she just wanted to give me the 2/2.50 cpns back and it wasn't until I said to just take all the make-up off my order did she go got the other CSM. The kicker is that they don't offer to adjust the publix Q's, they just want to give back the mf q's. I did add a couple of extra items to get my order out of the negative and into positive. I guess maybe I'll just start using the $1/1 covergirl Q and stick to free items.

It also blew me away that the CSM grabbed the WHOLE stack of back to school booklets like it was her own personal duty to save the store from coupon users...lol

I know they loose perspective.

The manq's make them money and the store q's cost them money - so why hand back the manq's. They do it to me too.:shrug7:
There is one cashier at hoover across from golden rule that will hand them back every time. She is also sneaky and adjusts manq's with out saying a word.
Saving the store .11 and loosing a customer is plain dumb too. I spend $1500 a month in q's at Publix . 2 stores don't get 10% of my shopping because of the way they treat couponers. (Hoover Trace on 150 and Tannehill Publix)
In fact I purposely go in there to cost them money.
Ie....rain checks.

One of lunch bunch members talked to a store manager about rc's coupons and store coupons. He says stores loose money on rc when we redeem them. So I take the rc's and a compet q to those 2 stores.
I am very careful that I only buy a few of the quantities so they can't get me on that too. I have bunches of rc's just so I can make up an order when I find a winndixie cat and need to boost my total up. I try to go on tues nights or sun evenings just to collect rain checks.
Even if it's something I don't need, or have a q for it or really don't like.


I put my overage stuff in the middle of my order. I guess it gets by easier. Hadn't thought of that one before.

Thanks Thickbluebug & Johnfdeluca for your insight! TBB I think I will just stick to Hueytown since I can go there after I drop the kids off at school in the mornings!

When Publix opened their new store on 31 and Valleydale in the old Delchamps location, they tripled q's up to and including .35, as many q's as you had. I specifically remember this because I took a vacation day from work to go to the sale and I spent practically the entire day in that store. They had drawings going on all over the store and all the employees were so nice and so glad to see everyone, even the couponers. Oh, how time changes things. LOL

WOW China - things have definitely changed.

Competition is a wonderful thing and they have certainly changed since they are the big dogs now.

Wow that would have been so cool to have gotten to play with those triples.

I loved the food world/brunos triples.
I pulled out a free tuna pouch today from those trips. My flipz and warm delights are long gone, but I still have crutons and tuna to remember the good old days with.
