Default Which is the largest Publix in the B'ham area?

Largest in assortment of items, as well as size of store.

I've tried a few, and they are on about the level of our local Winn-Dixie.

With the closing of Food World, it is becoming a hassle to drive all over the country to buy groceries. I want to find one place to get the most out of one trip.

Thanks for any help you can give!

So far the largest one I have been to is 280 store at Doug Baker Blvd. They have entire section of Greenwise organic products that is sepaarate from the rest of store and huge pharmacy section.

Thanks for answering!

That's kind of what I was thinking, too. The other Publix stores seem to be rather smallish to me, and even the 280 one seems cramped and crowded. Maybe I just got so used to our humongous Food World (especially the last few years when no one was in it) that other stores seem small.

My perceptions will have to adjust.

They are a remarkably customer oriented business. The employees have been exceptionally helpful and nice every store I've visited.

Happy shopping, all! :8^)

I don't think you can go wrong at any of the Publixes in the B'ham area. I've shopped at Deerfoot, Chalkville, Montclair and Greensprings and found them all great. The only gripe I have about any of them (and it's really just an annoyance rather than a big problem) is that the milk at the Montclair location always seems to be close to the expiration date. Personally, I haven't shopped at FW in years except for two or three times about a month ago when they were doing the triples. FW's prices were, and probably still are, higher than Publix prices on many items anyway. I think you will be happy with Publix and will not miss FW/Bruno's at all.
