Receive a $5/$20 printable coupon in your email when you sign up for Save-A-Lot's Smart Shopper Club (Smart Shopper Club | Save-A-Lot.com).

*Excludes the usual stuff (i.e., gift certificates, alcohol, tobacco, postage stamps, and pre-paid gift cards).

*Limit one per person or household. The coupon shows the last name and email address you use to register for the club on it. You are also only allowed one print per computer.

*I signed up today, and the coupon printed with an expiration date of 7/9/09 so I'm thinking there is a one week rolling expiration date.

If you have a baby, you should really sign up for their baby club. They've been great for my Publix shopping over the last few months.

The store manager would not let me use this coupon today -- said that Sav-A-Lot was not a competitor because they sold "generic" food. I didn't think of it at the time, but when Aldi opened here and they had a $5/$30 coupon and I used it at Publix with no problem.

The cashier and customer service manager also would not let me use three printed coupons, but the store manager did let me use them -- said that printed coupons "were at the discretion of the store manager."

I was irked today to say the least.
