Default Question about BOGO's at Publix

I know this sale is over, but wanted to know for the future. I had 3 BOGO coupons for the razors so I got 6 pkgs. I live in FL and they ring up full price for the 1st and free for the 2nd. The cashier said I would have to get 3 more pkgs, pay for the 1st and get 2 free. I tried to explain about the coupon paying for 1 and Publix the other, but she wouldn't budge, so put them all back. I did call when I got home, but I actually think I spoke to the girl who rang me up. Any suggestions? TIA!

Default Re: Question about BOGO's

I would contact corporate via the Publix website email link & ask them what their official policy is & then take the printout to the store when you go next time. The cashier was incorrect.

I have always been able to use a BOGO coupon in conjunction with a BOGO sale & get the item for free. The cashiers sometimes question the BOGO coupons, but the floor manager always says that it is OK. I have recently been able to do it with the Wheat Thin Artisan crackers & also the razors.

This thread should help you. How do I legally justify/explaining using a BOGO MFQ for a BOGO item?

I had the same problem, and Publix wouldn't email me a direct answer to it...they basically said that it was every managers discretion. So, I composed a list of all the Publix's I frequent and I either talked to a manager in person, or called and talked to them and asked them point blank. They were so helpful, and out of 8 only 1 didn't accept BOGO qs w/ a BOGO sale. I now have the list w/ their coupon policys on my fridge.

oh wonderful! I wrote a long email about the same problem.
I had done it at the same store 2 days earlier. Hopefully that cashier didn't get in trouble for accepting my 2 cpns then- plus I gave her one to use :shrug7:
I guess back to avoiding this store even though it is closest to home if they come back with the same answer as you received.:hectic1:

Even if your store decides that you can't use BOGO with a BOGO coupon and you really want the deal purchase 4 items per coupon. The cashier advised you to get 3 more items when in reality you could have picked up 6 more. So buy 3 get 9 free.

1-Buy
2-Free with Sale
3-Free with BOGO coupon
4-Free with Sale
5-Buy
6-Free with Sale
7-Free with BOGO coupon
8-Free with Sale
9-Buy
10-Free with Sale
11-Free with BOGO coupon
12-Free with Sale

store manager called yesterday and said he will inform his staff as time permits that it is acceptable. I'll have to test it later in the week with my RC for the ladies razors.

First you should have asked to speak to a mgr. What I did was actually write out the scenario like this because I had 1 cashier say " But I feel she should be buying at least 1" I told her in front of the manager " You feel I should have to pay for something is what you actually mean ? LOL she started laughing because she said she really didnt get how the BOGO coupons made 2 items free. I showed her

$6.99 Razor
$0.00 Razor (free with BOGO sale)
------------------------------------
$6.99 total
-$6.99 (BOGO MFQ pays for 1 razor $3.99)
--------------------------------------------
$0.00 both are free because one item is paid by MFQ and the second
is free because of the store sale)

all she said was " OOOH wow I need to start buying the newspaper!"

It can be a little akward for a moment when the cashier asks a mgr. But dont just take the cashier's word as the final word. I have let it go and just walk to customer service and explain it to them and they have always giving me the money back. I think more people should use the BOGO coupons with BOGO sales that way cashiers learn about this coupon .
