Default Question for anyone who shops at the Oakleaf Publix in Jacksonville, FL

I went this morning to get the Electrosol that is BOGO. When I went to check out the cashier told me that I could only use a coupon on the item I was paying for and not the free item. I asked her if the policy changed over night because I was just in there yesterday and purchased BOGO items and used coupons on both. She said no that they changed it about 3 months ago. Has anyone else been told this?

I go to the one off Merrill Rd and I had no problem using 2 coupons on BOGOs last night. I hope you didn't buy it and went to another store instead. Its very odd to have trouble with coupons in Publix so I think she was misinformed.

I also shop both Merrill Road stores and used two coupons on a BOGO just last night. We are looking to moved to the Oakleaf/Argyle area in July but I can't be near that Publix if that's their policy!!

You ARE allowed to use one manufacturer coupon on a free item in a BOGO sale. This recently has been added to the cashier training guides. There was no "memo" sent out but it is allowed. I would politely call your Customer Service Manager and explain the situation and I'm sure they will fix it for you. It is store specific as to where or not they will take a Publix/Competitor coupon on the free item we are already selling the item at $0.

I also had this problem with Publix at Monument and McCormick. I wrote to the Lackland office to find out the real policy and was told that each store is allowed to make it's own decision about the BOGO coupons. Needless to say I now drive to Merrill and 9A where they have ALWAYS happily accepted my coupons.

BTW-just a thought but have you ever come accross another major chain store where policy is differnt store to store? Isn't that the point of going to a chain store because you know each and every one is the same?

No I didn't buy it. I had her cancel the transaction and went right around the corner to another Publix and everything went through just fine!

I just wish they would get their ducks in a row. It seems every time I go it's a different story. I almost felt like I was at Wags. :)
