I bet they are taking a big hit but the coupons have been around forever seems like it would be an issue long ago especially since lots of Albertsons have shut down.

I was talking to a Publix butcher the other day, teaching him and his wife how to use coupons. He mentioned the Albertsons meat coupons at Publix. He said that Publix takes a big hit/loss on those coupons. My point was wouldn't Publix rather people shop there than at Albertsons? He agreed, but hinted that it soon going to stop.
Just Tuesday my friend took the Albertsons coupons to Publix for the meat and that butcher told her that the Publix corporation will soon be having a meeting to stop the use of those coupons accross the board.
Just wanted to give everyone the heads up

I think this is going to happen real soon. I used the pork chop and london broil coupons today. My cashier asked another cashieir what to do and was told to only do BOG1F. I asked when did that change and she said her manager told her that today. But my cashier went to ask the manager and they told her to do it. So I wouldn't be surprised if this happens real soon! I was going to say they need to honor my coupon becauuse there is no sign or notification of the change.

I was told that Publix does take a hit on the Albies meat Q's. However they will honor them only if they have exact cute or same wording on meat. My question is why would they take a hit? Didn't they buy Albies out and just leave a few open? I don't understand and now I feel like I'm stealing when I want to use the meat coupons...
Still Learning.

A great day begins with a great attitude!
My store hinted they might be stopping bj's coupons because they are taking a huge hit on those. I always buy a few items to go with them but some people are getting major overage on them. (they have always said if you use a high value bj's coupon you must spend at least that amount but some people aren't and it's costing them $$$). I really hope they don't but I wouldn't be surprised if they do stop all the big $$ competitor coupons.
I also thought that Publix bought Albertsons . I know I read it somewhere in the news that Publix bought 114 Albertsons. SO I figured the same thing . How could they take a hit if they owned most of the Albi's
Oh well I've never used the meat Q's because of the wording. I was going to try and buy the Pork chops and all I found were Pork Chop
cutlets at Publix :hectic1:

Publix bought 40 albertson's in Florida, not the company or the assets to the company. In regards to: Even in Albertson's takes enormous hits accepting those coupons (obviously their choice). Who is going to reimburse them? Same scenario with every Publix $5 off $X coupon, Publix can't reimburse "themselves". It is a loss leader to get people in the store. The reason there is so much confusion on those coupons is because Publix meat quality is much better than Albertson's. There was (and still is) much debate at the beginning because in theory, Publix just doesn't carry the products advertised on the coupons because Publix meat is really considered "another product" almost. Albertson's meat is much more inexpensive. I'm not sure I see the company quitting on accepting them. It isn't like they would make signage for it. The only loophole I see is them using "it isn't the same product" type deal.
You mention the meat quality and I agree - the quality at Albertsons is not up to Publix standards. Albertsons hikes the price per pound when they do the B1G2 coupons. I don't think they are taking as much of a hit as Publix is taking to be honest. I see the same cut at Publix for LESS per pound when the item is on B1G2 at Albertsons.
I love my Publix's and have decided not to use these q's there. I continue to use Target q's and Winn Dixie and Albertsons $/$$ q's but not the meat ones. Just does not feel right to me.
