I have done this in the past so is this new or made up?
I have no problem with the coupon being adjusted but feel I should at least get the item for free.
Wanted to get feedback as to whether or not this is correct before writing a letter. | Publix policy is that you need to pay something when you walk out the store. Understandibly, they can't owe you money.
Probably would fall on deaf ears with the cashier, but I would let the front end manager know that unless the coupon says "Do Not Double", Publix (through the coupon clearing house) is reimbursed double the coupon by the manufacturer in accordance with the Publix double coupon policy. If they do not double the coupon for you, they will be commiting fraud by submitting the coupon and accepting the .50 you should have recieved.
If the manager doesn't understand how coupon reimbursment works, offer him/her the choice of either voiding the sale of the item and giving your coupon back or writing plainly on the coupon in bold print over the barcode that it was not doubled. Then suggest that they do a google search on "publix coupon clearing house".
:shrug7:The manufacturer prints the coupon to entice you to buy their product and pays Publix for doing so. How hard is it to understand? |
