That's great, the new stores are beautiful and they will have grand opening specials and give aways.
They are building a new publix in my area which I am excited about. Right now there are tons of Publix everywhere, but there are no close grocery stores for me so if I have to just run out and grab something. To go to a grocery store I have to go to our busy street which is crazy! There are actually three Publix on this street almost one every block, but that is because two of them use to be Albertson's. Well, there is a shopping center really close to my house that use to have a Winn Dixie in it and it closed down and right now there isn't a lot in the center except a restaurant that is really busy all the time. Well, there is has been some controversy stirred up because the restaurant uses a lot of parking and they are arguing that there customers should be able to park anywhere in the shopping area, etc. Right now the shopping center parking is closed while they are doing some work which has caused a big problem for the restaurant.
Here's an article about it. I'm just excited about having a Publix nearby. I also think it's a good thing because of the jobs they are creating which is badly needed in our area.

that's great! I love Publix but they are one of the furthest grocery stores from me, other than food lion... Publix is at least a 15 min. drive with no traffic. (sigh)<never timed the drive but it sure feels like 30 minutes> But they are the greatest, always friendly, always have the most blinkies/peelies (I always go to publix when I am looking for blinkies) , plus they do have great sales and the penny item on sunday and monday. I wish they would build one closer to me!
Wow seriously? That's some serious Publix over saturation. There is a new Publix not a couple of miles down Alderman at US19....plans to build a Publix supermarket on the approximately 7-acre plot adjacent to the Lucky Dill, at the corner of Alternate 19 and Alderman Road.
These are so fun!
