What makes good filler at Publix?

Publix has been putting out so many good store coupons lately that I've been running into problems with my store+manufacturer coupon count exceeding my item count which causes all sorts of trouble. What are some of the cheapest items to throw into the order to increase the item count, but not the coupon count?

They have bulk candy, I think, and some lightweight produce items. I might feel a little silly coming through the line with a single green bean in a bag, but it'd serve the function.

Any suggestions?

I always grab a handful of ramen if I think my item to coupon ratio will be off.

My favorite is the trial size cereal. They are .50 (2/1.00) and there are frequently mfr coupons that don't exclude trial size. There are even .75/2 blinkies right on the shelf. How much is the Ramen? That is a good idea.

Are these with the cereal? I have yet to find them here, they are only at WD for me.

Yes, right with the cereal. It is usually to the left. All of out stores here have tons of the personal size. My WD stores just started carrying them.

I get bottles of Hydrogen Peroxide, gum, small bags of bite size Kit Kats, fruit. Lately some of the clearance items have been a good deal to get too.

I stock up on cans of cat food. Buying them in singles (usually with a coupon) makes for almost free cat food and also makes my 3 cats very happy.

I like to eat/buy fresh fruit - so after not having been able to use all of my coupons at the first transaction today - for #2 and #3 I ended up bagging a variety of fresh fruit - one or two to a bag for fillers. It's something I would have gotten anyway [just not as many different types and varieties] - instead of getting one large bag of one type of apples and one with oranges - I've got 4 different apple varieties all bagged seperately and various citrus fruits [oranges, lemon, limes + grapefruit] - when the cashier looked a bit funny I suggested that I am making a fruit salad and want variety = made sense to her....
