Did you get to use all your coupons on the savorings....- even the 'free' ones?
If you did...and if you have never had a bad experience before at that particular store and you like shopping there - then I would just leave it alone and chalk it up to the manager having a bad day. |

| Re: first negative experience with a manager! i would wait and see if it becomes a problem before contacting someone. If he has a grudge against coupons then it is time for a little letter and a reminder that there are 2 other stores close by!

Everyone is entitled to a bad day...maybe someone peed in his cornflakes that morning!! |

He asked me if I was gonna contact CS and I said, ya know, it might have just been a bad day and everyone is entitled to one once in a while. he agreed.
I wonder why he even said that? About not using q's on the 'free item'. That has never been the stores policy. It really threw me. |

he counted the savorings, I got 14 and he told me I could only use 7 of the q's cuz I got 7 free and I told him, I shop her weekly and it has always been the store's policy to allow one manufacture q per item and he told me but you only paid for 7 of them. I said OK that is fine, go ahead and return all 14 and i will go to another one of the other 3 publix's around here and get them there. I was very polite. Really.
He said "FINE" very sharply and very very brusquely scanned all of my coupons never even looking at another one, it was apparent he was mad.
Should I contact Publix CS? Or just chalk it up to a bad day? I have never had a problem there before, not sure what happened today. :frown: | Wow.
My husband is a manager at a Publix here, and I can tell you, he would *never* stand for that (and if it were my dh you complained to, you'd be compensated for the rude treatment ). If he ever found out that another employee, or a manager beneath him, did that, they'd be in trouble for sure....so I would definitely suggest asking to speak with the Store Manager. Most likely you were dealing with the Customer Service Manager (or Asst C/S Mgr), so the only ones 'above' them are Asst Store Mgrs and Store Mgrs (those are the only ones above my dh as well, but he is a Grocery Mgr, not c/s) Definitely let the Store Mgr know, is my advice.
I actually disagree with letting it go, only because Publix is huge on customer service, and things like that need to be brought to a higher up's attention- otherwise it will continue. (now you don't need to go and call corporate over it LOL, but I'd at least speak w/the store manager at *that* store)
My dh would disagree that 'having a bad day' is any excuse to treat a customer that way, btw, nor would he accept that as an excuse from an employee if he found out they treated you like that. So sorry that happened to you. |

| Re: first negative experience with a manager! I wouldn't call either because of the not to exceed purchase price. He may have been upset because he felt he was following the rules and you opted to take your toys and go home to another publix that will take the business but breaking the rules. His job is on the line if he lets people do things against the rules. He shouldn't have spoken to you that way though.
I also in the future would never slide my debit card until all coupons have been put through. I've never been asked to put it in before my coupons.

(doesn't it require you to hit "yes" and accept the amount anyway?)
