Default Concerning Competitor Coupons (spoke with CR)

I contacted consumer relations this morning to get a definite answer to whether or not Publix accepts competitor coupons such as Target, Walgreens, and so forth. Consumer Relations told me that the Publix policy across the board is to accept competitor coupons BUT it's up to the District Manager to decide for each area what is considered competitor. They are expected to accept ALL grocery store competitor coupons but for things such as Super Target/Target, CVS, Walgreens, Walmart and the like, they are not acceptable unless you here it from the mouth of the District Manager.

It's frustrating because you don't know whether or not your committing coupon fraud unless you here the policy from the mouth of your district mananger. The Consumer Relations did say that you can contact them via phone (800-242-1227) or email them using the form on Publix's website and they will forward your question on to the District Manager who will then call and discuss with you personally about what they accept.

It can't hurt, I contacted Publix via email only to have the District Manager call me the next day and give me their policy, then the day after that the store manager called and just wanted to follow up and offer me a Publix Gift Card for my patronage of their store. I got a free $20 gift card just for a polite inquiry, though your experience may vary. :-)

So what did the DM say. I was told last week by a CS manager that they were now accepting wag's etc and that a memo had gone out to all cashiers to that effect. Have tried to get a copy of that memo with no luck. But I'll keep trying.

My DM for here in Jacksonville (Southside Area) said that they do not accept Target as a competitor as well as CVS, Walgreens, Super Target, K-Mart, etc.

So no more Target printables for me, guess I will have to rely on Food Lion printables for help.

I am also in Jacksonville (Westside) and all of the Publix's over here accept Target coupons as competitors. They would not take the Aldi coupon, and only one of the stores will accept CVS and Walgreens(OP area).

BTW, it is not "coupon fraud" if a cashier accepts a competitor's coupon against that managers policy. It would only be fraud if you misrepresented the coupon. I don't see how they can say Super Target or Super Walmart aren't competitors. They sell items that directly compete with every section of a Publix store.
