It is tough for me to believe that there are Publix stores here in HSV that WILL take a Food Lion coupon for which we DON'T have a Food Lion in town, but WON'T take a Star Market coupon for which we DO have a Star Market in town.:shrug7:
I haven't had a problem using a man q and publix or com q together as of yet. My sister spoke with the store manager at the hwy 20 store, and he was really nice about using coupons. He told her that she could use the FLIP q's that she had that week. It was the week that eggs were .29 with the q. He also mentioned that he had other customers that used them at his store. I'm not sure who, I've not tried them yet.
I always give them my manufacturer q's first, then give them my competitor q's together. I'll say "and these are my competitor coupons." I've not even had anything questioned. Of course I try to do all my shopping at once, and I have to do two transactions so I won't have over 50 in coupons.
Hope this helps!!

It sounded crazy to me to. The manager says that he has shoppers that drive to his store about once every two weeks from Tennessee to shop, and that he lets them use the Food Lion q's. I don't even know where there is a food lion located. I'm not going to argue with him on the subject though, if he wants to take them he can.I've never had a problem using star market q's either. I've personally used q's from Target, Walgreens, Rite Aid, Star Market, and Winn Dixie. I buy all my groceries at publix (mostly), and I never have more items than q's. maybe that helps me stay okay with them.
Yea, this is WRONG in more ways than one! An excellent example of WHY some stores/cashiers get the coupon policy confused :hectic1:- because now they will eventually get a lecture about using FLIP's, as they should since I've been told the closest store would be 40 miles from Meridianville!! More power to ya if you have the bullocks to do this – I’d just like to use q’s from my Target 2 miles away from my store!:frown:
Joe was ‘adamant’ that you could use a Publix store q and a manu q, as long as there was no overage. And I doubled checked that we were talking about one of each on just one item. He also didn't say that my store had to let me use Target q's when I told him my store mgr won't let me use them. He also gave me his voice mail number if I had any problems/questions.
Of course I had to try to get a coupon policy straight from corporate, but instead my store manager called me! Before I talked with DM Joe and I thought he might say no to store & manu together, I asked my friend in the biz if I needed to just contact the regional mgr Joe. My friend said I shouldn't even bother because Publix gives their DM's a lot of decision making power and wouldn't be surprised at all if the Publix DMs have coupon policy decision making power. HTH
FYI, Joe said Athens is now set to open Dec 3 or 10....

I'm so sorry they are refusing your target q's. I honestly don't understand why they wouldn't take them. I have several friends and myself that use them every weekend. It doesn't seem fair that they would refuse you yours. I've used them in Harvest, on 72, and on 20. I've spoken to all three managers, and they are very coupon friendly, or at least they have been. They have even told me it was okay to use the 10 off 40 printable that walgreens has sometimes without a problem. :shrug7: I also don't get why cashiers would get lectures on something the store manager said was okay. Maybe you should try another store a few weeks, and go back to try again later.
That is the only advice I can think of.
I normally shop in Harvest, I am going to call the MGR before I go in this week and double check the rules again. I spoke to him when the store opened and he specifically told me that I could use Target, Walgreens & FLIPs. I will let you know what happens.
I'd hate to miss out on the B3G1 Free Ore-Ida potatos!!

I have an update from the Harvest store.....They are no longer allowing FLIP's, wags, cvs. The CS told me they are only going to accept q's from grocery stores in hsv/mad area. She specifically said Star Market, Kroger & Target. I asked about mixing comp q & man q and she said "NO", but when I showed her the Muir Glen q's (publix & man. q) she said that was fine. So I don't know??:shrug7:
I spoke to Serafina last night at the Harvest Square store about something similar while she was writing up a raincheck for me for the Steam 'n Mash [BTW, the Meridianville store is OUT OF RAINCHECK FORMS, so they have been writing them on 3x5 index cards...not great, since I send MOST of my rainchecks to the SIL east of Nashville, there isn't a chance that some other TN store would take a 3x5 card as a raincheck for Publix!]. She said that if it isn't a 'regular grocery store' then this store will NOT take it, so Walgreen's, CVS, Family Dollar, Dollar General (UNLESS it is the Dollar General MARKET) are all out. I didn't ask about Food Lion, as there isn't a food lion within 30 miles of the store. I think these are changes that Tom Moore is making, and Jessi warned me about him...
I'm interested, but please make it after work or on a Saturday or Sunday, as work is unfortunately how I get paid and it has to take priority.
