I second the PP's opinions about the Montclair Publix. The customer service is fantastic, and I've only had one cashier ever say something about coupons - it was an IP, but she took it anyway "this once." Whatever! I just make sure never to get in her line now.

That Publix also takes competitors q's and store and manf. q's. I've used SuperTarget q's and I also use the Piggly Wiggly $5/$25 and $5/$50 that are in the Birmingham coupon book that schools sell. My daughter's preschool is selling them this month and I'm so excited b/c it has $60 worth of thoe Piggly Wiggly q's and I use them at Publix. If you can get your hands on one of those books - do so! I know that sometimes the Jefferson County schools sell them too.

I love the store on Valleydale. I shop this store most of the time because they treat me so well. I haven't had any problems with coupons there.

I like the Lee Branch store as well, but they do not take competitor RX coupons(or at least that is what they told me last time I tried).

I live right across from the new 459/bessemer Publix and they have been very nice so far. I haven't used a ton of coupons there but I did do the Boston market deal last week and used manq and Target q's and they were fine about it. I haven't tried using a Walgreens q there yet....I'll edit this when I do though:)

Eian in customer service at the new Bessemer Publix is the best!! He moved there to my store.

I shop mainly at Hueytown and have only had one problem but the store manager Craig straightened that out really quick. A few of the cashiers are really great about coupons but I avoid some of them. There is a big guy named Jonathan that is so great with coupons. He does check the exp dates but I have never had an issue with him. He never bats an eye when I hand him my cvs or wags. The store manager called me one day about a nice email that I sent and talked to me for about 30 minutes related to the coupon policy and if I need anything.

I need a cardboard (like for a cake) to make a bottom for a shrink wrapped goody bag that I made. The bakery told me 1.00 and the customer service cashier said they charged you a dollar for this?? Well one of the assistant manager (Clarence-love him) walked over to say hi and the cashier said we charge a dollar for this little piece of carboard and he said no we give it to her.

I use mostly the 150 Hoover one. I emailed corporate once about combining manufacturer's and the store coupon ones because the guy at Valleydale refused it. He said as long as it didn't say "not to be combined with any other coupon," they would accept it. Then he "invited" me to shop his store because they are coupon-friendlier.

They are except for a few know-it-all cashiers. One told me that she wasn't really supposed to accept the coupon because it was off 2 items. I said, um, that's why I bought 2 items. I won't check out in her line given another reasonable choice because she obviously dislikes the deals I get legitimately. The ironic part is that I always do it the right way and try to fly under the radar. But that doesn't work with her. She shares my name.

But management is super. A few times I have suggested substitution of stuff I would rather have (because I had coupons) for stuff they were out of. They have always been great.

I shop at the Greensprings one in Homewood and they are o.k about my coupons. But I try to go to the cashiers who won't give me any trouble. One cashier tried to tell me I could only use one coupon for one item, even if I bought several items (ex. three boxes of popcorn-use three coupons). She didn't want to take them. But she did and I cleared it with the manager too. I feel like I get hassled most everywhere I go, but it usually works out o.k. I have heard that the Lee Branch one on 280 is the best. I had one cashier at the Vestavia one get very upset when she saw how much money I was saving. It's as if I was taking it from her paycheck. Odd. I don't go to that one anymore.

Well, I have a better update on Greensprings since my first post I finally found a favorite cashier, who I hope to use from now on (I actually asked her when she was working haha!) She is a very sweet older lady who actually complimented me for printing a coupon off ("Look at you, printing off a coupon! Good for you!"). And she saw the pecans I had on the belt and asked if she could make a recommendation, then she proceeded to direct me to another aisle in the store where they had the same size bag for $1 less. I wanted to hug her. Still planning a trip to the Lee Branch one eventually though, to see what it is like!

Another update- my Greensprings store is now stating they won't take IP coupons over $0.50. Anyone else having this problem in their store, or is it just mine?

I "shop" them all. I like the new one in McCalla the best. The one on Allison Bonnett is a pain in the arse for me. The mountain brooke one is always clean, but snoooooooooty!

I LOVE the one in Chalkville & the one in Trussville. They always get 4-stars from me.

Montclair Road is nice as well and very friendly. The only place that gives me crap about qs is Mountain Brooke...

Which is hilarious, because that's the only CVS that gives me crap too! However, that Wags right there has the best beauty consultants.

The thing about them giving me crap about IPs is that I know the COO of Pigglys....I had a lengthy discussion with him about how it's a hassle at some of these stores to use IPs, but they are legitimate coupons and no one wants to take them. He said if any store gives me a bunch of crap of them to call him! <3
