Thanks thickbluebug, reps to you. Is it better (or would it be easier) for me to go to a Trussville store? I have not planned my trip at the moment but depending on what I get and how many coupons I have, I am wondering which store to go to. TIA!
I have heard of at least 2 people having trouble at montclair publix and coupons.
If you have trouble I would as for a manager and not one of the cs managers. The actual store manager.
The competitor coupons vary between stores. Pretty much it's a no on cvs, wags or ra as competitors. This would be ecbs, rr, ra store coupons, and some are discounting target as a competitor too. Some are eliminating fresh market and whole foods too.
Their has been no changes on rules for me have been using the winn dixie store coupons and catalinas and also piggly wiggly store coupons too.
The bogo sales, you can use 2 coupons at publix. Birmingham area rings up half.
Double coupons up to .50.
IP's vary by store. I was told last week it was up to $5 and in the past I was told up $2 and nothing that says free on it. If the q makes it free, that was ok. WAS, is the key word. Publix stores are are changing their rules at the drop of a hot.
You can use the wyb krafts and the meat/cheese/produce. They are scanning w/out a beep if your item count is correct. I haven't had any problems on those. One cashier called the cs manager at greensprings on my kraft wyb coupons and she told him of course I can use it. She bought steak sauce and she bought meat.
Just make sure of your item count when you ck out. Add up your total items and your total coupons using and make sure you have enough items to use x amount of coupons. This to avoid the supervisor key and them scrutinizing your coupon. They may still happen anyway since reports of bhm shoppers say all publix stores are cracking down.

You may want to pm angelsorce, kandpmom and foreverfrugal about those 2 stores. I think they shop them often
I haven't shopped either store for months.
Someone had a problem at trussville, but the manager fixed it. So my suggestion would be go to cs and speak with the store manager about your q's. I have started doing this at stores.
Some are limiting shoppers to 3 or 4 like coupons. Crazy but they are.
I suggest you join our social group the birmingham lunch bunch, we discuss all the local stores and throw in wags, ra, and cvs too.
Several of the members shop the trussville publix.

Haha a cashier tried that at Greensprings the other week- she told me I couldn't have more than ONE of the same coupon! I had two coupons for the two Kraft dressings, and she freaked out on me. I had to take off over half of my order because I was getting more than one of the same item- ridiculous. I talked to the CS manager and he was very apologetic about it- said he would "talk to her" and straighten it out. Who knows what is going on at Bham stores these days:shrug7: They seem to make up rules at their own whim.
I was at greensprings last week and I heard a cashier say they can only take 1 like coupon - the lady had 4 cat litters. Same cashier tried to stick her nose in my order and I told her she was wrong. She must have misunderstood management about a transaction and a item/purchase.
I asked my fav cs guy about the 1 per order and he said the same thing. ????? Why in the world would they limit a sale? No adv buy, no store sale, just a plain old coupon on an item like the mama mia pizza crust. It's a twighlight moment for sure.
It is really weird when a good store starts spouting crazy stuff.
I turned around and email cs about it. No return call yet.
I agree, these stores are going crazy and loosing customers in the process.
Can't wait until the super target on 459/150 opens. That should set them straight.
Publix won't lose me, but target will get some of my business for sure. Especially since I go where the deals are. LOL

Sounds like it may be a district manager that has some crazy ideas that need to be straightened out. This seems to be at many stores in the Birmingham area. Maybe a call to corporate for a little verification on policies would be a good idea.Haha a cashier tried that at Greensprings the other week- she told me I couldn't have more than ONE of the same coupon! Yep, I think it's the dm causing the problems too. I think their bottom line is wacko with all the newbie couponers and they are inventing policies to try and get better profits.
Just my opinion.
I have asked about policies. When I called Publix CS to ask about certain policies and situations I was sent back to the district level.
After I have spoken with a dm I don't feel I learned much from the call.
All mr dm wanted to talk about were the limits of sales items and who is considered a competitor and why.
He said those are the normal problems he gets called about and he wanted to address that with me.
He explained over and over why they don't accept target, fresh market, whole foods and someone else as competitors. - It was the proximity to the store, and well....target is just not a competitor.
That was not my situation.
My questions were:
why did the cs manager adjust my coupons down to the sale price, - she shouldn't have
why did she refuse to allow me to use a dr pepper yellow flyer q w the buy 3 get 1 sale, she shouldn't have
why did the cs manager refuse to allow me to use a bogo coupon and $1/1 for the vitamin water I should have been able to
why did the cs manager tell me I was committing fraud by using a man q and a store q and that I was committing fraud again by using a coupon that was one penny over the sales price.....
ie salad dressing on sale for 1.49 and my coupon was for 1.50....she was wrong

I shop at the Valleydale Publix and have never had any trouble with my coupons....until last week. The cash register acted a little huffy when I handed her my coupons and then when she got to the target coupon she told me that they were no longer accepting target coupons as competitor coupons unless the coupon said "super target". Anyone else having trouble at the Valleydale Publix with target coupons? I may try them again with a different cashier.
Hello, everyone!
I moved here a few months ago. I live north of the city, but will occasionally drive down to the Publix on Greensprings since it's closest. I have been maybe 4 or 5 times and had used coupons with no problems . . . until my last visit. It was the Starkist Tuna deal, b1g1 w/ the $3 on 1 coupon. I purchased ten. The cashier said I couldn't use all of my coupons because they were limiting them . . . didn't know an exact number. I said this had never been done before, so she called over her manager/supervisor person who said I could only use 5 of them. I haven't been back there since then. These new 'limits' will make big stock up trips less worth my while.
I digress, but Winn Dixie sucks big time -- have to buy 2 on b1g1free's, won't use coupon on the free one . . . blah blah.
I am really, REALLY missing my NC Harris Teeter right about now because I just can't find a grocery store to love. Help!
*sigh*
