Publix Brand Challenge 8/21 to 8/27 — for dog owners

Returning for the second week this month. This week's theme is dog food and treats. Woof!

Buy one of a national brand product and the corresponding Publix product is free. There are three designated items this week:

• Purina Beggin' Strips, 6oz bag
• Milk Bone medium dog biscuits, 26oz box
• Pedigree Choice Cuts w/ lamb & vegetable dog food, 22oz can

No coupons needed, but watch the checkout display — you may need to remind the cashier to enter the credit(s) for your free item(s).

Limit one of each national/Publix pair per customer, but you may buy any or all of the 3 pairs. In other words, you can buy any 1, 2, or all 3 of the different pairs.

Since the promotion link is on their home page (first item under "What's New"), this should be valid at all stores. If you don't see a sign or display in your store, ask at the CS desk on your way in.

Note that the images on their web site show the dates as 8/21–27, so you folks in areas where the weekly sale runs 20–26 may get an extra day (though you'll probably need to print the page from Publix's web site and discuss with someone at the CS desk).

I got both the Beggin' Strips and the Milk Bones. They had the sign under the Beggin' Strips, but not the Milk Bones. The manager saw me looking at automatically directed me over to a huge display with all 3 of the products there. My dog will love these.

Yeah, I thought about mentioning that.

Well, on the first pair your dog's going to be thinking "It's BACON!!!" so I don't think there's any worries there.

I suppose you could try the "two bowl" test...
