Publix Brand Challenge 8/14 to 8/20

I thought at Publix if your item doesn't ring up right you get it free. I know your getting the product free anyhow but is that correct?

I started to get one of the Hormels, since we love roast beef (or is it beef roast?), but paying 6.99 for the Hormel, even if we did get the Publix one free was pretty high. I could buy a real roast for less than that (and it would probably taste better!)

At my Publix the Hormel is on sale for 5.99 and the Publix (because it is larger than the Hormel) is 8.99. The cashier questioned it but customer service said to let it go through.

So this one is a really good deal!

Has anyone gotten a raincheck on the hormel? I was going to get it the other day but there was no hormel. I was feeling sick so I didn't feel like dealing with it. I may go back today if it's open (i'm in miami and everything is closing because of the tropical storm). I love those meals and although they are a bit expensive, It is worth it to me when I am in a hurry or just don't feel like cooking. And I am definitely going to try the beef stroganoff recipe! DH and I were just talking about that the other day. :-)

Our store had the Hormel, but they didn't have the Publix pot roast (or roast beef or whatever) ... but the meat dept. manager was there and he handed me a Publix brand Sirlon Tips ($8.29) and told me to tell the cashier that he said to substitute it.

This was not in our sales ad, but I was just there yesterday and yes these products are buy theirs get ours free at least it is here in Central Florida.
I even stopped by a few Publix stores just to get them.

Got a chance to go to publix before they closed for the 'storm'. Picked up ingredients for the beef stroganoff recipe in one of the previous posts. Well, it was great! My DH had three bowls, DS had 1.5. DD had almost 1 but since it's not a pretty food she's a little picky.

I did have a problem with the ring up. They didn't want to give it to me. Iirst she was saying that it wasn't the same item. I was like 'yeah, that's the whole point of the promo". I actually had to go over and grab the big cardboard sign...lol. she said I had to buy all 4 items.

We are on vacation, staying in a condo and I did not want to cook alot, but have lots of teenagers coming in and out. I got the publix pot roast and the hormel pot roast and put them together. Served it over rice since it comes in gravy and it was wonderful!!! Hardly any work, and put a salad and bread with it and you feel like you made a real meal!
