Publix New Policy in my store - No Store Cpn with Manuf Cpn

I tried to use a target coupon (ie a competitor coupon) for the Skintimate Shave Gel and a Manuf coupon today. Was told by the cashier (and the CSM) that Publix will not take both on 1 item. Disagrees with the FAQs for Publix already posted on HCW.

I did not take the item (not on sale, but it would have been a decent deal with both coupons).

Anyone else had this happen?

This was at the Meridianville, AL store. Said policy was due to new Customer Service Manager Adam.

I use to work at the Smyrna, TN and the policy changes from store to store. I would contact the distrist manger for your store. Just go to Publix.com and explain the situation and get his input on their policy. I was always told that you can except a competitor's coupon and man. q. Or a Publix store q, and a man. q together when I was working there as not only a cashier but a customer service staff member. Can I ask where your store is located at. I know in AL, but north, south, middle or on the border of a state?

i just mixed Target qs and man q. today with no issue! And even more awesome my Publix took a Walgreens coupon for toilet paper!

The Meridianville store is about 15 miles from the Tennessee State Line, just north of Huntsville. NORTH Central Alabama.

This is the FIRST time this has ever happened to me. Normally the Publix is great about honoring others coupons and such (Family Dollar, Walgreens, etc).

This customer response comes from one of the higher ups in Corporate. The name was XXX'd out for privacy purposes. Perhaps you should take this in to the store.

If your store takes Target store coupons as competitor, then you should be able to use the Target store coupon in the place of the Publix store coupon. It can be up to the Store Manager, whether they do accept Target as competitor. I think you should talk to the Store Manager before going to corporate.

I've been told that if the store mgr hasn't changed recently, he's a "real nice guy." This person also suggested to talk with him at a less busy time, like in the morning, if possible. :) Good luck, let us know what he says.

:shrug7:the new manager can not make that decision, especially a CSM. I would definatley speak with the store manager. I have worked for publix for 9 years and have never heard of that.

Then you know not all store mgrs are created equal - I asked a store mgr about the store's coupon policy and he told me to ask CS! I had cold food or I would have taken the time to explain to him that it's his decision

I wrote a note on the 11th of August on Publix.com directed to my store about this issue, as I had to CHOOSE whether to use my manufacturer's coupon OR my competitor coupon (which was a target coupon), as they would not take both. It also happened at a different store in Madison, AL (actually same coupons, as I didn't purchase the shaving gel that day). I have seen that all the currently published Publix coupons say something to the effect of 'not valid with any other offer', so my request at Publix.com asked if I could have something that clears up both issues... competitor WITH a manf coupon and a Publix store coupon WITH a manf coupon. I also asked what the difference was in buying one or two items with a competitor coupon (and manf coupon) when they accept $10 off $50 that are from another store that would equal 10 or more competitor coupons.

How long do I wait for a reply? I wouldn't have thought this was THAT difficult to make a decision. I haven't shopped at the Meridianville store since this happened.
