coupon redemption question

purchased cheese at 4.99
purchased 2 boxes of crackers.. bogo

handed them my free cheese q. and 2 q's for .75 off of nabisco crackers

got the dreaded beeping register.... my cashier wanted to push it thru but her supervisor was nearby and said no.........

I think that the register beeped because it was waiting for the cashier to enter the amount of the cheese. From my previous experience, when a cashier has to enter an amount for a coupon, the register beeps because it is waiting on an amount to be entered. Anyone else think the same thing? Also, I had some of the coupons that you were trying to use--wasn't the value of the free cheese up to 4.99 and not 4.00? That is what my coupons were. Anyway, hope this helps!

I actually had purchased several of the cheese/cracker combo and only the last of the cheese coupons beeped. I dunno.... I sent an email to publix I'll see what they say. :shrug7:

Did you check your receipt? Had she scanned all of your crackers/cheese? It might have beeped because something was missing.

Do you know what the total value of all your coupons was? The register will beep when you get to over $50 in coupons. The manager needs to come ok the transaction after that.

Do you know how many coupons (store + competitor + manufacturer) you had vs. the number of items? The policy is to allow 1 store + 1 manufacturer per item, but the register is programmed to beep if the total coupons exceeds the total items.

I did the Nabisco/Cheese deal 6 times last night and no beeps other than the asking for price beep and then later the over $50 coupons beep and then the coupon count beep. Where was my brain????

I tried to use 1 store + 1 manufacturer to purchase one box of Claritin today and was not allowed to do so. Is this the policy for Publix? Or should I have been able to do this? The cashier didn't even try to put it through. I wasn't sure what to do so I didn't buy it.

Yes, IME, you should be able to use a store Q, and a manu Q.

Can somebody give me a source for these Q's? I need some free cheese, and I can't find any peelies anymore (found a couple a few weeks ago, but none now :( )

It beeped because they needed to add the price. Regardless, the manager should have been more accommodating.

so below is my response from Publix. TOTALLY did not answer the question at all.... didn't even address it.... growl.........

"Please encourage the customer to call the store and speak with myself or Store Manager Larry Gaines, as I am sure whatever questions/complaints she has regarding coupons, we will be able to answer. I would encourage her to never leave one of our stores unhappy without taking the opportunity to speak with the store manager or manager in charge, as given the opportunity, we would exhaust all options to satisfy our valued customers."

My guess as to what's wrong would either agree with what's already mentioned or the nabisco Q you were using. Mine say .75 off 2 crackers/cookies. If that's the coupon you have, that could be why it beeped. If they were .75 off 1 then I'm jealous!
