Race to the Movies Promo Question

I bought 14 boxes of the GM cereals two nights ago. All but two of them had the "race to the movies" promo on the front of the box. However, after I got home I realized they don't seem to have the codes anywhere!! The last time I did this deal (a few weeks ago) there were sticker-things on the front of the boxes with the codes listed. I just peeled them off and entered them online. It was obvious when they were peeled off because it left big white spaces on the boxes.

However, none of these new boxes have the stickers, and they don't have big white patches where someone else took them off. Soooo... am I missing something? Are the codes hiding somewhere else? I opened a box of Lucky Charms and looked all inside. I even squished the bag of cereal around to see if it was inside, but nothing.

Before I go back to the store or contact CS I want to make sure I am not missing anything. Anyone have any ideas or advice???

Nope, they are peelies on the front - sounds like somebody STOLE yours. Sorry. If it were me, I would take the boxes back and explain it to CS. They should let you exchange the unopened ones (no idea about the opened one) for the ones that have the peelies.

You're right, the new ones are smaller and attached with clear tape, so you don't realize the code isn't there unless you know it should be there. Sorry.

grrr!!!!! You would think that out of 14 boxes at least ONE would have had a code left.... Poor planning on marketing's part, IMO.

I hate to load all of them back up and take them in, but what else to do, lol!

The new boxes advertise the deal, but they still have peelies on them. The new peelies are grey.

I agree that it is a very very poor decision to have the codes on peelies instead of inside the box. I frequently go to my store and they have been peeled off!

I've purchased 20+ betty crocker boxes and 15+ Nature Valley granola bars and I've only managed score about 6 peelies. :(

Also, I did notice at my store that a few of the varieties of cereal didn't appear to even ever have peelies on them. They was no clear sticker left on the boxes. It looked like they never had peelies to begin with.

For what it's worth, this is what the GM rep told me:

Because this is a General Mills program we are running specifically with Publix, there is no way for us currently to put these in the package itself at this time due to National distribution of our packages. Our promotions team is currently looking into different way to offer these programs that will work within our manufacturing process, and hopefully soon they will have an opportunity for us to execute.

I think that doing some sort of mail in rebate system would be better!! This way, you have to send in the receipts showing you purchased the items.

I noticed this too. It looked as if only on one type of cereal too.

Slightly OT, I saw some GM cereals with the banner and peelies at one Albertsons when I was down in Florida last month. Can't say how the special boxes ended up there, but saw it with my own eyes.

The only varieties of cereal at my stores that have the peelies are the Cheerios and the Lucky Charms...........and they are on the larger boxes. I got a few of the new gray ones this week with Cheerios being BOGO (or maybe that was last week)

So do you think I should start by contacting GM about the issue? I looked at the boxes and honestly don't see where stickers could ever have been- there are no signs on any of these that there were stickers to begin with. The banner wraps around the whole front and sides of the boxes, and there are no indications that anything was peeled off :shrug7:
