Default Re: Publix chat: high prices on milk

That is the one thing I hate buying... we only get organic and at our Publix it's $5.49/gallon for the Greenwise. At least my kids don't NEED milk, we can get calcium and vita. D from other sources.... but that doesn't help my 60 boxes of cereal problem!! LOL

Right! It also doesn't take care of the fact that I'm about to buy 3 million bottles of hershey's syrup.

Thanks. I bought a gallon of whole milk tonight for the same price as skim $4.29 a gallon. Whew. I told the cashier I was going to try watering it down and he said he did the same thing.

I would still love to know how you made rice milk. I was thinking about this again today. I saw Rice dream on the shelf and wondered if that is what you meant. Or if you make it from scratch? Please share.

I don't know if this should be posted here or not, but if anyone has an Albertson's near them, a gallon of milk is $2.99 (limit 2) this week. (in South Florida anyway)

Lets Get Physical Re: Publix chat: high prices on milk

I transfer my prescriptions around in a circle to get gift cards. Our Publix's unfortunately just stopped taking competitor Rx coupons and the colon screening ones from St. Joseph's at Publix expired 6/30/08.

But I do get gift cards from CVS, Walgreens, Publix, etc. and use that free money to "buy" milk. I don't know why but since we go thru so much milk here it's just extra fun to get it free!

I believe I made that comment to my wife a week or so ago when my 5 year old spilled her upteenth glass of milk.

Speaking of watering down whole milk...what do others think of that? Is skim milk really watered down whole milk?

I usually purchased skim milk but ever since this thread started I pick up 2% and water it down. So far no one has noticed, it actually doesn't taste any different.

Default Re: Publix chat: high prices on milk

we use gal/day, I make 2 trips to Aldi per week, just for milk. WMSC was price matching, even when it wasn't in the ad (sign out front), then supposedly someone from corp (probably RVP) said they had to stop when it wasn't in the ad. Two weeks ago it went from 1.99 to 2.49, but I find I'm addicted and get grumpy if I don't have at least a glass a day!

My BFF buys 2% and I tried to water it down and couldn't finish my glass! YMMV, maybe I just need to tweak the mix :)
