I never count on getting overages. If I get them, fine. If I don't, fine. As long as I get my products free then I'm okay.

Regardless of the point, the CS was rude. When you cool down, I suggest you go back to the store and talk to the manager.

Ok, So I wanted to update everyone here about the situation. I have not been back to that Publix since. Humiliation, frustration, etc but I did go to another Publix that is the newest around our area and I know the computer alerted the young male cashier that the coupon exceeded the value of the item.

so I couldn't use it at all.... not even going to be adjusted down.

So here's the question- I purchased these 10 coupons (actually 30 because I have 20 of the MFC $1 any and Target $1) and they will expire at the end of the month. I leave for IOWA in a few hours (where I will donate a BUNCH of stuff for people who have lost most everything)- WHAT SHOULD I DO in regards to the coupons, try to use them and if so what product since I can't use them on the lip gloss....

I wonder if it alerted the cashier because the total for the entire order went below zero.

I remember when i bought 4 hamburger helpers ($1.99 B1G1F) and had 4 $1 coupons. It wouldn't take the last $1 coupon because that would have brought the entire order down to -$.02.

Once they scanned my fried chicken in (which was last on the belt), it took the 4th coupon without an issue.

I just had the MOST horrible experience at my Publix today. I was trying to get 5 Cover Girl eyeshadows for my son's babysitter as a gift. They were $2.99. I had the $2 off CG Publix q and $1 off manu q. I was also told that my $5/$35 coupon was a fraud. It most certainly WAS NOT! The customer service manager basically called me a common criminal and said that "people like me" were not wanted in the store.

I know how much working in a customer service job sucks being a server but that never ever gives anyone the right to treat another human being like dirt for no reason but trying to use a coupon. People everywhere are struggling to pay their bills, get gas for their cars, put food on their tables and saving money a legit way is not something that should be looked down upon. I personally have never had any experience close to this in any stores I have shopped at especially Publix, issues yes but nothing compared to that. If I as a server ever tossed a guests coupon or whatever, rolled my eyes, or acted like a 5 yr old i would no longer have a job. Some people just dont know how to function with the rest of society and dont ever belong in any job dealing with the public.
