Publix brand challenge info - post here (spring 2008)

I apologize if this has already been brought up, but we can always use a reminder, right?

In a few days (June 4 or 5, depending on where your Publix is located) the Publix brand challenge will begin, and you’ll be able to try select Publix brand items for free when you purchase the leading national brand.

They accidentally advertised this early in my circular (5/29/08). The link to the details is: Discover Publix Brand Quality Right now, they just have an apology for advertising too early.

I have never shopped at Publix before - we just moved to TN from CA so I will be givng them a try this week.

In a few days I will be keeping my eyes peeled for displays or endcaps with publix brand and the name brand equivalent for a sneal peek. My store tends to set up the sales displays a coulple of days early.

It's in florida. They just aren't always great about advertising it. I have 4 stores in pretty close proximity to me and for these promos, only 1/4 will have a display with the things marked clearly. The others are really hit and miss. Be sure to take the ad in with you when they are listed. The items don't always ring up and some of the cashiers will have no clue whatsoever.

I think that the registers don't generate the discount automatically — the cashiers have to key it in, after they verify that you've bought the correct pair of items.

I saw the early ad too and couldn't find ANY info about it on the website. Thanks for clarifying!!
