Default Publix Story Brag

I have only been to Publix twice since the 1st one in Chattanooga, TN open up several months ago. Since it is located about 30 minutes away and with the price of gas it is not worth it. Anyway, I needed to be in the area so I planned a field trip. It was a rainy yucky day and I had time to kill so I was wandering around and getting the lay of the store because I had time to kill. So, they were stocking the shelf and there we Publix people all around and every time I passed on they greeted me and asked me if I needed anything. The were so polite I began to get paranoid and just figured I looked lost or they thought I was a thieve.

I went to the self checkout and I picked an item that would not scan for me, the attendant and the manager had to come over fix it and they both just kept apologizing. I could not believe how sorry and helpful they were. This in no way was their fault. I thought it kind of funny since these things usually happen to me.

So I am going out in the rain and guess what.........there were Publix employees assisting people with their groceries to their car and get this they had 2 umbrellas each trying to help people not get wet....umbrellas........umbrellas and they were really trying to hold them over people to no get wet.

I can't wait to get a Publix in Hixson. They are saying August 18th and that can't get here fast enough. I am so accustomed to being used, abused, and threated by Wal-Mart I am about to go do volunteer work just to get Publix open quicker! WOW! I hope Publix keeps up the great customer service.

I did work a few deals nothing spectacular. A new store is always overwhelming till I figure it out!

Sounds like a great store, Donna. We don't have any out this way either. But when I lived in other areas of the state, we had Publix, and they usually have their own Qs/booklets, so you can find some good deals there.

Publix rocks for customer service compared to the others. Grocery stores and superstores, never had better service than at Publix. I am in FL and have experienced the rainy day service.

Our Publix does the umbrellas if they aren't busy. If they are busy, they hold your buggy, ask what kind of car you drive, and wait for you to pull up so they can load your groceries. They like my SUV bc the back opens up so they can stand under it and not get wet.

Glad you loooove your Pub as much as I love mine.

If you get a chance, send a compliment to corporate about your experience. The report will make it down the chain, and the employees will get some positive feedback.

I am so happy you have a friendly store!

My little sister was working for WInn Dixie for a little while after school, and when she did training, the instructor was bashing Publix for their employee's being "robotic".

Risa, having been an avid Publix shopper with me, pointed out so kindly, that they are not "robotic", just super friendly, and that is why I always shopped there.

Never thought they were any more robotic than any other store.

I do recall some guy asking me if I needed help bringing a small box of fried chicken to my car, though :). Funny thing...I don't think he was being sarcastic!

Love me some Publix!! On rainy days, ours will wait with your buggy at the front of the store while you go get your car too. So nice!

It looks as if in a few months my family will be relocating to a state out west were there are no Publix Stores. I have to say I will miss my local stores employees very ,very much. Not only do they do the normal things like ask if I need any help finding things or taking my bags to our car etc - they are very, very kind to my kids - especially my seven year old son who has autism.
Everytime he shops with me which is often- is an adventure to say the least . Ussually he is very good and has progressed from having serious meltdowns in the store to now being able to go through the isles with just the occasional scream.I often use shoping as a way to get him to use his speach and engage in the world around him - like when they give him a cookie or something to play with - I make him look them in the eye and tell them thank you. Some times this can take a few moments but the regular employees that he sees are very patient about this. They are his biggest cheerleaders now and he is often greeted with hugs and smiles which is something he and I really , really need just to get through a normal day.
The employees of my local store are truely special and I will miss them.

Ah....this might explain why so many Winn Dixie shut down in the Atlanta Metro and so many Publix have opened!
