Printable advice for newbies

When I first found this site and printable coupons, I started printing coupons like crazy, thinking that if I found a sale it would be nice to have them. Lots of those coupons expired and ended up in the trash.

Now, when a sale pops up and I want to print those coupons, I can't because I already printed them. It is very frustrating.

What I didn't know is that while most printable coupons limit you to two prints, for some sites that is 2 prints ever, some it is 2 prints in a month, and next month if they still have them you can print 2 more.


So--a word of advice for newbies. Do not print printable coupons until you need them unless you know the site is one that allows you to print them again next month. For those, it is often good to print the ones you may need near the end of the month so if there is a sale you have 2 from last month and 2 from this month.



The following sites reset your printing limits every month or so (go ahead, print them with wild abandon) With these sites the coupons can disappear at any time, usually at the end of the month, but not always, so print as soon as you decide you want them.

That's great advice. Thanks for pointing that out. I know that I did the same as you and often ended up kicking myself for letting a printable expire.

These websites that you mentioned above are all the ones that I change in our database each month. They generally change on the first business day of the month, although sometimes boodle and smartsource change a few here and there throughout the month as well.

These also usually have 30 days from when you print them til the expiration date. The dates vary on the coupons on the manufacturer's own websites - some are only give you a week to use them before they expire and some have a predetermined expiration date, no matter when you print them.

Also don't forget that you are not allowed to scan or copy printables as it voids the wording on most printable coupons. I know when I was a newbie no one ever told me that I could not make copies. If there is a limit to how many you can print then the limit is there for a reason. Most such printables have some sort of tracking code on them.

Another thing, if you are unable to print coupons from the sites and are using Internet Explorer, try downloading Mozilla Firefox. I can only print from Mozilla.

Thank you so much! My DH thinks I'm nuts and that couponing is my new "thing", but who wouldn't want to save money? And getting these deals can be addicting!
