HT's policy is to give you the item for free if it scans wrong.
There is no valid reason for grocery prices to be going up. In fact, since manufacturer's costs of transportation has gone down because of the drop in fuel prices, the prices that eeked up because of it *should* be dropping. Granted, it took a long time for the manufacturers to raise prices to account for the increase in transportation costs. All the grain and produce prices that went up are an entirely different issue.
Well, I had something crazy happen to me today. There is a promo running if you buy $10 in Colgate products, you get a $3 CRT. Well, I grabbed 3 of the Colgate Total large tubes that were tagged (And priced on Express Lane) as $2.50 each. I also got a toothbrush that was $2.50. I had 3 $0.75 Colgate coupons and 1 $0.75 Cogate Toothbrush coupon. I should have paid $1 but it came out to be a negative. I grabbed something at checkout real quick to cover the overage. The she handed me the receipt and no CRT. So I looked at the receipt and it showed that the Colgate rang up at $1.99! So I did not reach the $10 in order to get the $3. I tried to explain that I bought what I was supposed to buy and the tags clearly stated the price so I should have gotten the $3. Well, instead of giving me the toothpaste free the manager gave me $3 cash to cover the CRT. I am happy with that though. But for those that are planning on using those Colgate coupons from todays inserts, be careful with the pricing.
I swear HT must keep tabs on what typically has coupons and raises prices accordingly during triples so they don't lose money on those items. The french's fried onions are up and the Apple & Eve juice boxes are up .10 - both typically have coupons floating around.
Does anyone know if Harris Teeter is doing the double 1.00 to 2.00 coupons in Delaware? Thanks.
I think they do too. The french's onions at my store seem to have the price changing rather often.
I like the sales this time with the coupons that came out today. I feel I did pretty well and tried to stick with items that were on sale and used my Q or were nearly free and not on sale. That is where they get the people that will just use the coupons Willy Nilly and not think it will go on sale in a few weeks and be cheaper to wait and use the coupon then.
