What is a Printable coupon? and other Frequently Asked Questions

I've always printed my coupons in color, but I only have black ink in my printer and when I print certain parts of the coupon doesn't print well. The coupon value is written in outlined letters (block lettering), and the picture doesn't print, or looks like it has trouble printing. The part in the left hand bottom corner that reads "Powered by Smartsource", only shows "Smartsource" in very light faded dot lettering. Is this the way normal black and white coupons are supposed to print? I haven't tried to use it yet, but wondering if I will have any problem at the register.

On a side note, this printer I picked up (HP Photosmart all-in-one) has a large "black" cartridge, and a "photo black" cartridge. So it could be distinguishing between text and images when printing and the photo black is out of ink. All other text based printing seems fine.

I have always had my printer set to print in black ink only. Just recently, the coupons I was printing on coupons.com started printing in color only. I thought that it was that I had run very low on black ink. I changed the black ink cartridge and they are still printing in color. I double-checked to make sure my printer was set to print in black, I also re-installed the coupons.com printing software, but still, it prints in color. Please help, I can't afford to print coupons in color!!

OK, I just printed a coupon from coupons.com and it only has one barcode. The long barcode with the numbers at the top that's usually on the right is on the left in place of the short barcode that starts with a 5 or 9; the place to the right is empty.

Anyone ever use a coupon with just that barcode? Did it work?

Do you recommend printing out all new coupons when you find them? How often do you check for new printables. Say I print a coupon today...if I waited and printed it next week because there's no sale on it now would it expire later or is there a set date for them to expire?

The reason I ask this is because I've tried to print certain coupons for a sale item and I got a message saying "sorry this campaign is over" or "sorry there are no more coupons available for this offer"...then I've missed out on a good deal.

Sometime back my coupons from Coupons.com started printing out really small -1x3 inch size. Needless to say they didn't alway scan so clerks would manually input codes. Now a store I go to say it will only use one that scan- no more manual input. I emailed the company to try to find out why they print so small and what could be done about it-no reply yet. Anyone else experience this problem??

Is there any hope if your IP prints too lightly to be scanned? I have 4 I'd like to use on a sale that ends today but I couldn't get one to scan last night. :/
