Default Price Chopper - Any one else know about overage with double coupons?

I went to PC today to buy 7 packs of tic tacs (on sale for .99) with 7 .75/1 coupons. I was planning on using the overage towards some ground beef. Unfortunately, PC only doubled the qs for .24 (so they would match the price of the product). My total ended up being $3.14 after my $3.50 catalina and I only had $3 worth of quarters in my pocket. Luckily the cashier made up the difference out of his own pocket and I didn't have to run out to the car to search for more change. So my question is, did anyone else know the PC does this? I've gotten overages there before but usually with qs that don't double. I don't know when they started this though because I have definitely gotten overages with the .75/1 colgate coupons.

I was in there this Friday and had something similar to this. They have adjusted their cash register system and there are no more overages. You can get the item free but that's about it. Also make sure that you keep an eye on the q's that you use. Mine was $2.00 off ribs wyb 2 bbq sauce. The register attached it to the bbq sauce that was $1.50 not the ribs and when I asked about it the cashier had to go in and change it.

Yes, it is in their coupon policy:
Total double or triple value of a coupon may not exceed the items' retail price after AdvantEdge discounts.

Incorrect. You can use as many coupons as you like, but only 4 of each coupon will be doubled.

Yes, that is what I meant for doubling purposes.
