2012 HCW Biggest Loser Challenge!

I started the 2011 Challenge last year and was pleased with my progress for a few months. Then I stopped. I shouldn't have. I'm psyching myself to start again this year. Anyone interested in joining me?

I was just about to start a similar thread challenge! I want to lose at least 35lbs this year (though I would be ecstatic losing closer to 50). Since we just got some new games for the Wii for Christmas that will help with fitness, I'm gonna get serious about it.

My ultimate goal is 45 pounds. But, I'm not going to look at that goal!!! I'm setting monthly goals, instead. I think if I decide I'm going to lose 4-6 pounds in January, it sounds more attainable than saying I'm going to lose 45 pounds this year. Besides...if I set a long term goal, I keep thinking I have lots of time to reach it. If I set short term goals, I have to focus on accomplishing them in a shorter period of time.

We'll see if it works!

I gained 17lbs in 2011 so I would like to lose at least that, but ideally I would like to lose closer to 40lbs. I need all of the help I can get - probably someone yelling in my ear "put down the candy bar (brownies, cookies, ice cream, etc)".

I'm in. I just stepped on the scale, which I've been avoiding. I am at 162.8. I need to lose 20 pounds. I like XUFan's idea of short term goals, though. I want to lose 6-10 pounds in January.

You'll probably see me dancing when I can say that I weigh 162.8!! LOL!! And I DON'T dance!! It's just not pretty! I'm at 185 right now. It's hard for me to say it...and it looks even worse when I type it! But, I'm not going to weigh that for long!! This is MY year! (I'll be 54 in March! It's about time I had a year, don't you think?)

The sad part is, I was 153 lbs last month. That's 9 pounds in one month! It's been a bad month for me, and I tend to use food to push down my feelings, as can be seen. Not good! I was exactly this weight 50 months ago. I started dieting, and walking, then running (couch potato to 5k) and lost 30 pounds. I kept it off for 3 years, and have been putting it back on since then. Obviously, I need to get back to eating right and running. I know that. I just need to do it! Gggrrrr. I'm so mad at myself!

Im still actively trying to lose weight. Its a huge battle for me. I have thyroid problems they are still trying to figure out what is wrong with me and i seem to keep getting the run around, that combined with all my other health issues makes me just plain tired all the time.
I am eating gluten free now. Have been since December 12th. I have celiac disease. Im trying to stay as far away from processed as i can so im not really replacing the grains all the much in my diet with process things.
I stick to:
Rice
Oatmeal
Rice noodles
Corn and rice chex
Puffed corn cereal and puffed rice cereal
I also bought and have made some gluten free flours to make things when i feel like it.

I had gotten down to 175 this past year, went up to 195 again, got back down to 182 and back up to 190 over the holidays. I am again back down to 186.8 :)
Ultimate goal 130 lbs - 140 lbs so From 190 a 50 to 60 pound weight loss.
Hoping to excerise if I have the engery.

Wow, I am definitely above 200... I think I'll do a happy dance if the scale ever says 1xx.
