    Nurse Health and Wellness tips

    I figure we can share all our health and wellness/fitness tips everyone is welcome to add.


    today my tip is : about your vitamins...

    take your daily vitamins before bed with a full glass of water. This does take getting used to.. but in the end you go to bed with a full stomache and not hungry Your vitamins are better absorbed while you sleep set your cellphone for 10 mins before bed for "take vitamins" this way you know that you need to take them. this will take time again to get used to but in the long run may help you in the end.

    I'm terrible about eating breakfast. It is sooo hard for me to get up early enough to get myself ready, get Cara ready, and eat something, not to mention that I hate eating in the mornings.

    I found that drinking a glass of carnation instant breakfest with a glass of super skim milk is perfect for a breakfest meal. it has protein just add some fresh fruit in the blender and make it a great protein shake fast.

    chcocolate sugar free w/ cherries ( choc covered cherry)
    vanilla sugar free w/ mixed berries (berry blast)
    strawberry sugar free w/strawberries (dbl berry smoothie)

    you can also add ice and freeze for a great late night snack. ive tried this and it works well.


    or a great way to use up all that swiss miss we all have stockpiled... just add a scoop of protein powder ;)

    Todays tip....



    Have u made time to just breath? Relaxation and breathing helps release stress. By simply taking the time to stop and just find a quiet spot just for yourself for 5 minutes of queit time can help. I find my quiet time is found in the bathroom...lol I lock myself in and just sit in there a few minutes just to break from frustration. Plus u can just say im going potty.




    Find your spot and. Just close your eyes and deep breath meditation.

    I have a tip! Drink green tea.

    In addition to the link here, which shows a recent study that found green tea consumption helped protect the brain against Alzheimer's and dementia, green tea has potential to fight cancer and heart disease, lower cholesterol, burn fat, prevent diabetes and stroke, boost your immune system, and help with weight loss. I read somewhere that green tea is also good for your teeth and gums. Whether or not all these claims are true is still being studied, however, most scientists generally agree that green tea is good for you, so it can't hurt to add it to your diet!

    For those of you who are not really tea drinkers (and I was adamantly in this category), add honey, it completely changes the taste of tea and now I have to have a cup or two every day!

    great way to get your fiber..


    need a way to take a fiber supplement? hate the taste or texture of metamucil/benefiber?

    i add mine to my morning smoothie. no weird taste.

    i use the organge metamucil and incl with fruit smoothies. fun tasting , no grit taste or textures.

    also alot of fresh fruit and vegtables have fiber. besides bread. for those low carb'ers there are other options you can choose from.

    also Fiber helps keep you full! longer! :) enjoy your day and enjoy fiber for once!~
