AKA 2011 Savings Challenge!

Do you like my thread name? I am hoping a fancy thread name will encourage people to join and encourage me to actually SAVE this year...

2010 was... in short... a DISASTER for me. I saved NO money at all.

But I'm claiming 2011 as a whole new year and I WILL SAVE!

My goal is to save $6,000 by June and then afterwards continue to save at least $200-$300/month thru the end of the year, without dipping too heavily into my savings. By the end of 2011, I'm hoping for a solid $7,000 in savings!

We'll see how it goes!

I'll join I'm not sure what I want as a goal yet...our goal is to have hubs' motorcycle paid off by May 2012, so most of our money is going there. But we do want to get $1000 EF in our savings...

Of course, you can save for anything- an EF, pay down debt, a trip, maternity leave, to make a big purchase, just because... We'll have fun encouraging each other, goodness KNOWS I'm always tempted to spend when I could save.

I will join ya julie! We had $5,000 in our savings this past year but due to a snowball effect of bad time/luck we are down to nothing. I am so broke that I actually only have $30 to live on for the entire week :( it has been a long time since I have been this broke. I basically make enough to pay all my bills.
The good thing is that in about 4 months my taxes will be here so that will help my savings out a little bit.

My goal is to have $5,000 by the end of the year in our e.f.

Do you have a goal for saving? Like $100, $1000, etc? It's cool if you don't, I'm just curious.

I have $40 to add already...got a $2 MIR and $38 refund from our cell phone company.
