I'm in too. I call it "decrapping" in my house! LOL I haven't decided if I will do items or minutes yet.
Count me in also. I don't think the minutes would work for me as 6 minutes a day isn't alot. I will go with 2011 items starting with the closets. If it hasn't been worn for a year,it's going bye bye. Donate what I can and toss the rest.

DH came home yesterday in a sour mood and gave me an ultimatum (though he denies that's what it is). He said by his bday (October), if the garage isn't cleaned up (1/3 to 1/2 is his mess too), he'll be uhauling it away. I told him to do what he needs to do.... So, I need to clean stockpile, coupons, kids extra activities (puzzles, legos, crafts, ...) so that it is organized. I'm thinking all my minutes will start to add up super quick in January. I already started yesterday but won't count the minutes til 2011. Thanks for reading.
BTW, we have 120 linear feet or so of 18" shelving DH and a friend put up several years ago when they got the shelves from a going out of business boot store and we can fit 2 cars in the garage every night. I know it's not that bad.....
PS: Ev is my QBFF...
meggers takes all the brown "e's" and ruuuuuunnnnnnnnsssssssssss!![]()
I thought that 6 minutes a day didn't sound like much too, but I also know that some days I don't even have that much time to devote to it. So...since it's 40-45 minutes/week, I figured if I only found time for it once a week, and gave it close to an hour, I'd be doing good!
Anyone use a swapping service to get rid of their kids stuff? I've looked into zwaggle and thredup, but I can't decide if I actually want to do it. I use some of the book swapping sites, but I dunno about the kids stuff.

I signed up for thredup, but haven't done anything with it yet.

I do a gathering with some old co-workers and I bring with me a bag of items I no longers use. I offer them to everyone and I walk out with an empty bag. Win win for all!
I'll probably use Freecycle to get rid of things I don't think I would be able to sell if we have a yard sale. Also, some of the people from our local Freecycle site started another site called, Cheapcycle. It's like a mini-craigslist. It's local, and you can sell items on it. As for the books, I'll take mine to Half Price Books. They give cash or credit toward anything in the store. Since the goal is to de-clutter, I'll only buy something if it's going to be a gift!!
And anything that doesn't find a home with those methods, will go to Goodwill.
I sell A LOT of stuff on Craigslist throughout the year.

I was thinking of swapping the old clothes for new size-appropriate clothes since I'd have to buy new clothes anyway and would be getting rid of the old ones in the process. We always do a consignment sale in the Spring and the Fall, but that's not til April! I've got 5 totes of outgrown clothes in my basement taking up space.
