I lost about 20 lbs in my first two months gluten free. The key is to NOT eat any GF replacement items (GF bread, GF pasta, etc.). They are usually higher in carbs and calories than regular stuff with gluten. Instead stick with lean meats, fruits and veggies and you will drop weight in no time at all.
And since I'm posting in this thread I will fess up I haven't been very good this year. I dropped twenty lbs at the start but I didn't do any thing to lose more and I do need to lose more. I also have the problem however that I need to add muscle--my muscles got very weak from being bedridden before my celiac was diagnosed. Over this past year I've regained my ability to walk a good distance now without having pain or an asthma attack. So my goal is going to be to continue to be more active and alternate between walking and lifting light weights. I'm not going to set a weight loss goal because if I gain muscle I will weigh more (or it will even out). I will however set a goal for my clothes to get smaller. I currently wear an 18-20. I want to get down to at least a size 12 by next year.
