Re: 20 1/2 weeks til my vacation Good luck to you. That's a goal with a healthy lead time. Only thing I can think of concrete is to replace your emotional eating with some other activity. First, ask the question each time you eat (especially, the "junk stuff") if the result is really worth the momentary enjoyment and remind yourself what you are striving to achieve. And just because you, for example, open a bag of chips/cookies, does not mean you have to eat half or finish it. At each point you stop before you would have previously, you have at least made improvement. I vote to weigh yourself often (at least weekly); don't get too bogged down by the numbers but you have to see progress, recognize it, celebrate it.
I'm a dietary moderate, the healthy, less healthy and truly no reason to eat it except for enjoyment, the entire spectrum. So I don't say to myself that any foods are off limits, but portion and frequency do matter.
Also, I do hope you have exercise figured in, not just for this project, but as something which can improve your overall health and longevity. |
