My Financial Goals For Now Until August

I've been thinking about these goals for a while, but figured that if I put them on here, in print, it might make working towards them more "real" for me!

I'm not scheduled for as many work hours during the summer as I am during the rest of the year (so that limits our income somewhat) but I have two main goals I'd like to reach by the end of the summer. The first is to buy my son a new bed. I'm estimating about $250 for that (I know that IKEA is one store that has lots of reasonably priced bed options). The second goal is to put another $500 into our emergency fund. It's a great comfort to me to know that we have at least some money in the bank for an emergency, so I'd like to keep adding to it.

I'd like to achieve both goals by the end of August. I'm planning on having at least one garage sale to help raise money towards this, do a few eBay auctions, and save change (it sounds silly, but it adds up!). Other than that, I'm planning to just coupon my little heart out!

I'll try to update regularly. Hoping I can do it!

Wishing you good luck towards you're goals! Hey the change thing is how we fund our summer vacation to the state fair and my mom averages $400 a year she puts towards Christmas.

I totally understand how you get sidetracked if you don't right it down or keep reminding yourself. I would love to have a emergency savings fund and its always been my goal but everytime we get some extra money something happens. Hopefully when we move in with my mil things will get better. Keeping a budget on my groceries always helped. If i went to the store with no limit then it never worked. But having a husband who drinks soda like crazy and smokes lol doesn't help the bills. good luck
