Just over a month ago I decided to get serious about losing weight. Years ago I had gone from 168 down to (at the lowest) 113 and settled at about 125. Over the last few years I had crept up to just over 130 then just under 140 until about 6-8 months ago when I started putting weight on faster and as of the end of May weighed 153.8.
I had started taking Paxil last August/Sept and I think that may have contributed. After reading about Wellbutrin and how it helps you to not gain weight while on it I had the doctor add that to my Paxil to kind of balance each other out. My weight gain slowed way down but, I was still inching up. That's when I got serious. Here's what I changed...
- I stopped eating meat. My protein comes from almonds and other sources.
- I added alot of fresh fruits and veggies.
- I also was reintroduced to Morning Star Farms products and I love them now. Before I didn't like them. Even my husband loves them. He's lost 10lbs., BTW.
- Absolutely no eating after 7pm. I can drink anything I want, though, as long as it's calorie free.
- No more fast foods. There isn't a whole heck of alot of choice when you don't eat meat so it's not that hard to stop. If I have to eat out it's a salad.
This is all without adding any exercise at all. So, if I had added exercise there's no telling what I would have lost. Also, all of the above were huge changes for me and yet they were not that hard to adjust to.
Anyway, I just wanted to share my experience with all of you.I am currently at 139lbs. and would love to get below 130 again.

Congratulations!! Too bad I can't follow those rules... I'd love to loose about 15-20lbs...
Good for you though. I'm glad you found something that worked.
I did loose 10 not too long ago... I cut down on my coke intake, and started eating nutripals bars (for toddlers... shhh!) but then I got stressed out, and started back drinking a 12pk a day, and picked it back up... AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH...
well, I'm not giving up my coke. It's the only thing I've got that helps with my stress. (Plus, if I don't get enough caffiene, I get horrible headaches)
Oh well.. something will work for me eventually!!
Congrats again. I know how great you must feel!

Thank you. Currently, I'm not doing much trading, as my mental health has decompensated again, and I'm not doing too well. Thanks for understanding.
Congrats! I will never be that small, but I will get close. Here are the rules I have for wieght loss. If I follow them I will lose weight.
no eating after 8pm
no more than 2 cans of diet soda a day
Lots of water
no sugar (except those 2 sodas)
exercise 30 minutes a day
don't stuff myself at every meal, even if what I am eating is low fat/low cal

I've just started using the Wellness360 website seriously and it has really helped me. It makes me mindful throughout the day of how much I've actually taken in. Yesterday I thought I totally blew it because I ate a lot of Teddy Grahams trail mix with a Root Beer for supper and actually came in right on target.
Of course, the site doesn't work perfectly for me because there is no way to account for nursing the baby, but I aim for the "Maintain weight" calorie goal each day since nursing takes about 500 calories. In the end I'm consuming at a rate to help me lose 1 pound per week. Not super fast, but what I can manage and not freak out about. It helps it become more of a lifestyle for me than a diet.
Wife to 1not updated right now, mama to 3 little girls.
Congrats!
I've cut out red meat, diet sodas, and wine/alcohol. I also gave up simple carbs and I am getting 30 minutes to 1 hour of exercise 6 days each week. I've lost 10 pounds in the 3 weeks.
Great job! I told myself that when I lost 10lbs. I'd give mysedlf a treat but, I couldn't bring myself to do it. LOL

Wow!!! Great job!!
I got all excited when I read the title to this thread! I thought I'd finally found the answer to my prayers. But...
I haven't eaten meat in 7 years (allergy), I live on fruits, veggies and Morningstar Farms, and I can't afford to eat fast food (haven't had it in close to 2 years). Guess there's something else causing me to be fat! LOL!!
Honestly, I'm impressed!! You're an inspiration!
Thank you! And thanks for posting here since I know it's a challenge with the spaces and such not working right for you. :)

That is awesome. I have to admit I'm jealous, of both your weight loss and your will power. Great work. Now come to my house and keep me from eating junk food... please?![]()
